I have heard that there are some things you can do to lighten the Edge. I also heard where that someone got their Edge to 38 Lbs RTF! Any ideas / pictures of how to lighten would be great. Oh yea one more thing mine is ready to cover. Has the standard lightening holes cut into the engine box.

Also who makes carbon fiber gear for this plane?

Thanks

Hi

I have been posting the build of my 40% Carden edge in the Carden section of this site ( Carden Edge first time build) and have been including pics of the steps I took to reduce weight. I searched the web for ideas and used the ones I liked. Some of these steps could possibly be done with your plane in the state it's in ( I removed weight as I went). I would consider Lipo batteries, carbon fiber components also. There is alot of good info to be found if you look around. Good luck.

38# RTF. Thats a little heavy IMHO. Mine weighs 35# 2 ozs RTF. Thats with cannisters. It take long to do all the liting work than the nnormal build.

It's all about what you put in it and I'm talking accesories. You can remove about two pounds from a stock carden kit but the rest is up to you. I believe dennis has some carbon gears in stock, that will save you a half pound and another quarter pound on the wing tube. Kavan wheels will also save you a lot of weight but will not last very long.

Is not too hard to keep them light, my 300 was 36.69 pounds before the carbon gear
so I'm at just under 36 now. You'll love the edge !

I can only hope to get to 35 pounds. I was hoping for 38 with the only carbon fiber part being the tail wheel assembly.
