Can anyone tell me what kind of difference the turbo button head and plug would make on the Axial .28?

Here I put on the Losi HT pipe. I picked it up on ebay. Gives the engine great power over the stock duratrax exhaust.

The pic you posted is of the Sportwerks pipe, right? Are these two pipes basically the same?

Got my truck back from duratrax today. They replaced the driveshaft and the screw out of the servo i lost during my last bashing. They also replace the front skidplate that was cracked and the backplate off the engine. All free of charge. I'm pretty sure the backplate was the reason the RT-X wasn't perform at its best. It's crazy how a little airleak will affect these engines. I ran a tank through it a little while ago and it's screaming down the road now. The road was wet, so I was doing doughnuts with ease. I'm hoping to upgrade to an Axial 32 in the near future. I just started this hobby, but am picking up on it pretty quick. My wife saw it in action for the first time today. She said it goes wicked fast and to make sure I don't hit the kids with it. I like it alot and will be upgrading it bit by bit.

Anyone have any suggestions how to keep the air bubbles out of the line while bashing? I'm pretty sure they get there while bouncing the fuel in the tank around. Should I make the fuel line longer? Any help would be appreciated.

Making sure that the tank cap has a good seal is #1 priority. Small pieces of fuel tubing on the spring will help. Mess

If there is the odd bubble in the line when you are spinning the truck doing doughnuts I would not be to concern. You can install a fuel ball and I found that helps to keep the bubbles down and it makes it easy to prime the fuel line and start it.

I should've thought about getting the primer and filter combo. I just order a fuel filter, temp gun, failsafe and a few other accessories from tower. I also order some cv boots from RCslot($4.49) a set. I'm gonna look at my LHS for the primer, I think I saw one the last time I was there. I really appreciate ya'lls(Yep, I'm southern) help. Thanks.

hey know what might help i know in some of my planes I use a perry pump to keep constant fuel flow from the tank during extreme 3d stunts maybe the pump would get rid of all the air bubble problems with truck motors. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDG59&P=7 only thing is im not sure how you'd tap the crank case unless you had a bump starter.

I bought a temp gun to see just how hot my truck was running. 395 was the hottest and it seemed to be running fine. I know that's way to hot though. I tried to richin it up, but then it started to run sluggish. I ran it without the body and it was running about 350. I let it cool down to 100 and then ran a half a tank though it. At the end of that half tank, it ran 270. I know that my exhaust seal is leaking and have a new one on the way. Do you think the leaking seal would cause it to run that hot or is there another problem? The engine is putting out great power. If I get it going and hit the brakes, turn it around real quick then get back on the gas, it will stand it up that way, but from a dead stop it won't pull the front off the ground. I'm gonna try the new exhaust seal and see how that makes it run. Also broke the front shocktower, but that's a stresstech item.

Make sure you cut a hole in the window to allow air flow. Also turn the air filter clockwise to offset the filter to give more air flow over the engine head. I don't think the muffler seal will help at all. Try richen the low speed a little so you get more fuel when it is idling and that will help cool the engine down. All these tips help to get my super pooper to run cooler.

Just dropping in to introduce myself and say hi. I recently ordered an RT-X27 and am sure I'll be stopping by for advice soon.

Been into nitro rc cars and trucks for years, most recently been flying helis mainly, but my HPI super nitro RS4 that I found in the attic and got running again rekindled my love of cars and trucks and the RTX was too good of a deal to pass up, and looks like it has the ability to hold it's own on the track with a few mods. My truck should be here by Thursday and I will update with some pics when it arrives. I plan to tear it down before running it to get everything loctited, and make sure things are assembled correctly.

Anything I should look out for or be aware of from the start?

Make sure you loctite the six screws on the sput gear because they will fall out. Load them up with a lot of loctite.

See, ya learn something new every day. I figured for sure you'd be able to get water well over 212 degrees... Anyway, im gonna do that boiling test. As for the metal shavings... Hmmmm... If thats actual metal shavings, thats bad. But those are usually sparkly. Does it look like glitter? Being dark like you describe, sounds like some "running rich" grime.

I tried to send you a PM about my RT-X, but got a note that you're not accepting them.
