actually super pooper is owned by Great Planes which owns duratrax which uses there stuff...but then again just becasue they own that engine brand doesnt mean they have to use that engine, Redcat doesnt own SH and they use them and Tamiya doesnt own OS or Ofna but they use there engines also this is just a stupid decision by the decision makers at durtrax.

Kits dont sell as well as a RTR. They may change, or update the engine some day, but i doubt you'll ever see a kit of that truck.

Might as well throw in my 2cents. Just a warhead that has some of the options that warhead owners do ,still needs the alloy shock towers so as in the spring adjust collars won't rub when it's lowered for racing. Raze st tires are ok for track bashing but low profile tires and wheels like proline LPR are better for racing.IMO better bearings would be nice And i hope the new servos are better than the old ones At least duratrax is listening to its customers somwhat and improving on the warhead a little .

Ive never seen a warhead in person but I think I am going to try and go to a 4 shock set up, the wheels/tires might be OK on this one have to wait and see if not no big deal as they are 17mm.
As far as servos go ill probably drop a hitec or JR in there anyways seeing how Im just going to put my radio/rec in it.
And I havent been reading to much positive things on the engine so ill have see how that goes, might have to swap that out as well!!

As far as shocks go might try some genesis shocks (got 4 laying here!!LOL) if they dont seem to work Ive always wanted to try some rear jato shocks out on a MT!!

i own two warheads as far as the truck ill plead the fifth But the engine i like. beleave it or not ,granted its no powerhouse and if tuned correct doesn't overheat The only time i had problems with overheating is if i tried to tune for performance the line between lean and fast and a little rich and normal is a fine line and IMO the super pooper likes it a LITTLE rich [little!!!]

Looks good, should have man no later than the 10th!!

Have to start looking for bodies now as Im not to keen on the stock one.

Thermal, you leaving the stock engine in it for now? If so keep us informed how it holds up, I have NO experience w/ them but havent heard that great of reviews on them!!

Also been on the fence whether or not to sell these 8T wheels/tires but now I might just keep them to try out on it!!

I have a warhead and I can tell you the best upgrades to put on.
1 aluminum servo saver
2 aluminum steering drag link
3 get the sportwerks HT tune pipe. The stock one robs the engine of power.
4 Inline fuel filter or you will suck up the small bits of plastic from the new tank into the carb.
5 tear down the front and rear diffs they only put grease in them. Fill the inside with 5k or 7k and pour 50k on the outside gear. They will last longer.
6 put in a hump pack

Sikntired, i will be testing the stock motor. Havent heard much good about them, but who knows. I'll try it out.

Snaut, this truck is loaded with features. The things that intrigued me since the original warhead were the setup options, the ability to bumpstart, and its a big block. Making a real nice option for racing, if this truck handles well, and holds up well. They really have everything on this truck to alter setup. So theres no doubt in my mind, that i can set it up to handle well. The RT-X expands on those options, by adding the FOC, the new steering parts, 17mm hubs, and the race legal fuel tank. Its really all there. So the question now is, will it hold up? Im currently messing with the suspension, and just lookin it over a bit. Just getting a feel for what im gonna do to it, before it hits the track. I know it wont hit the track this coming weekend, but i plan to have it ready for the following. Im pretty excited to run it. As i am, pretty much any new MT.

Alright guys found a couple deals on a couple different engines and would love to get some advice!

Mind you this will be my attempt at reviving my love for the MT class this summer so keep that in mind!!

Sportwerks .26 V2

Dynamite Mach .28

I know both are budget engines, but I can get either one NIB for under $110 shipped so I dont think that can be beat!!

Again any addvice will be greatly appreciated.

I just got mine yesterday(3/4/08) I'm still looking over this big truck, This is not my 1st M/T, I had a t-maxx about 4 years ago and sold it for a flight sim. At 1st I was looking towards a warhead, but found there no more. Now replaced by the RT-X 27. I liked the way you can lower it down for racing. I got a 1600mAh hump pack & a charge jack switch. I'll probably put silicone oil in the diffs. I put it in my ofna ultra comp & it performs great. I don't know much about the super tiger engine, I had one for an airplane years ago. I have read on other posts about this engine, some say nay, but I'll try it out. I just got this truck for bashing, maybe some racing with the locals for fun. I got the red body on it, just want to know what kind of options I need to make it strong & durable. Well It says on the box "Fastest Monster on the Block" I hope so LOL. It looks to be a winner, we'll see. Scott

Hey people the rt-x has a different engine then the warhead evo. Rt-x has a supertigre 27 CS with the sg crank from the raze which most people like ! the warhead evo had the crappy 27 CX.

Mine was here for me when I got home after a wonderful day at work!!!

Truck is a little heavier than I had originally thought but there is some meat to lose!!
Actually thinking about keeping the stock motor and just throw a muggy header/pipe for now.
Definetly losing the bumpers, bottom skids are seperate which I liked; and losing the shock set up as well for 4 nemesis shocks.
Gonna slap my 8t wheels/tires on there for now as well, a little lighter I think!?

Gonna get to the diffs this weekend (more snow!! ) anyone know how tuneable the diffs are, hold silicone or need some grease?

And the body seems rather thick, wish they wouldve left the windows clear!!
Thinking maybe finding a MGT or Nemesis body to slap on it!

Thanks Motodude, you're pretty helpful.

Yamahadude, i had noticed that myself about the motor. I was just unsure of how different the motors really were. Im gonna give my stocker a try. If it sucks, i've got an LRP sitting here that i can drop right in.

Sikn'tired, what color did ya get? Post some pics. As for the pipe and header you want on there, i dont think it'll work without some dremeling on the chassis. I originally thought i could squeez in a U shaped header, but its gonna rub. I tested my OS 2060 on it. As for the diffs, i JUST got done with mine. They are massive diffs, with a GIGANTIC ring and pinion. The are sealed diffs as well. I just filled mine with 30k front rear. I do advise going over and getting the drive train with loctite. All of mine seemed way too loose, to be driven. I did my usual RTR checkup.

-red loctite on all drive train (output cup grub screws, cvd grubs, etc.
-blue loctite at the grubs holding the hub pins in place in at the axles.
-diffs filled
-slipper checked
-servo saver tightened up
-suspension set to my liking
-toe done
-camber done

Now i need to get a Spektrum RX in there, a nice JR servo, a nicer battery, and a JR switch harness. Then break in begins! Here are some pics!

Big diff!

Rear diff job.

Cant wait to test this truck.

Its not a HORRIBLE task Brian, but its certainly not as easy as accessing an LST diff, thats for sure. I'd still say its pretty easy.
