My motor in my warhead ran great. I just put an axial 32 in to get more low end power.

Thanks MMDUC, i'll keep that in mind....

I finished the break-in today. Actually, it was quite a breeze to break this thing in. Not one problem starting it up, or keeping it running. I put a 6th tank thru it, while tuning it up a bit. The motor runs great. It doesnt show HUGE power though. But i also believe the truck may be geared for high speeds more than anything.

Thermal put on a better exhaust. The stock one robs the engine of power. I put on a sportwerks HT pipe on my axial and I noticed a huge difference in performance.

Sportwerks HT? Is that a one piece header/pipe combo, or a single pipe?

It is a header and pipe combo and you can see you need to dremel away some of the frame to fit the header. Then I used a losi aftershock exhaust mount at the front of the muffler.

A lot of MGT people like the XTM pipe and that would work with the stock manifold. I hear it's similar to the LST pipes in performance.

Matt, I can let you try my AE FT pipe from my MGT too if ya want to see if you like it.

I know Matt he likes the 1 piece pipes...hence his question.

I figured the SuperTiger's problem was its power. People over leaning the engine expecting more. Remember pipes have a ton to do with tuning and power. And of course so does porting. Maybe Duratax wanted a mild engine for beginners so SuperTiger decided to do a more calm port set up.

So does anyone have an idea on top speed of the stock RT-X? I've looking everywhere and no one has much to say yet. I guess maybe it's too soon. It looks like a great basher, and I'm seriously considering dropping the $$$

If your looking for a basher I would go for a savage and not a warhead.

Everything is going good soo far with the RT-X. Its track test will be this Sunday. Today i decided to throw on an aluminum clutch setup, and some heavier clutch springs. It got a little too late for me to test it in the driveway, so i'll test it tomorrow. I also checked those spur gear screws while the motor was out. Good thing i did. They were not all that snug. Im hoping the new clutch setup gives the truck a little more snap to its bottom end. Just enough to have fun on the track Sunday really. If the truck handles well, and steers well, its getting a new motor. Messing around with it in the drive way, i really like how hard this thing can be pushed in corners. Should be very interesting test day Sunday. The brakes are also VERY smooth. As for top speed, its pretty good. In fact i think they've got it geared for too much top end really. Especially for the track i run on. lol.

Josh, you may want to go with snautrockets idea for a basher. Though i have no idea really how tough this truck is, i would be concerned about the bulkhead to chassis connection. Its not keyed together, and only uses 3 screws at each side of the chassis plates, front and rear. That is honestly the only area im nervous about on this truck. I mean 6 screws would be fine, if it where keyed better, but its not. Like i said previously though, i really dont know squat about the durability of this thing. I bought it for the racing concept behind it.

Hey Soulreaver, its called factory tracks raceway. They are going to be doing an outdoor track for the summer as well. You should come out tomorrow. The points series starts tomorrow, and its a new layout. If you wanna go check it out, today or tomorrow would be a good time to do it. They are having a big electric race today too.

Factory tracks raceway!

Revos run in monster truck, with the rest of the MT's. I race my LST2 mostly, but i do have a Revo as well. My main competition all drive Revos. Except the Bat, he occasionally drives his LST2, but hes faster with his revo most days. You should come out and meet the rest of the MT crew that races pretty much all year round. Come make some new friends, get addicted, then come back with a monster truck with race treads on it. Most of us are also getting into the buggy class as a second class too. As for the clutch change, ya... Not looking forward to it, but might still do it. It was such a pain to do the first time, i really want to just drop this LRP in there right now. But that leaves me out for tomorrow, with the RTX.

Thermal your problem is you were using heavier springs in the clutch, it takes too much force to spin them now and its taking more force from the engine to get them to engage the clutch. Just use the stock ones and it should work much better thats what all us warhead owners do and we have all noticed huge improvments, also scuff up the clutch shoes with a little sand paper.

Ya, i wanted a later engagement for more snap, but not like this. These springs are crazy. So this setup is comin off. I'll go back to stock for a while. Just debating wether or not to just drop the LRP in it too. I really wanted to track test this truck tomorrow.

Anyone know the difference between the Warhead EVO and the RT-X 27? any difference at all other than the body decals and the tires and rims?

Thermal, do post some info on how she did on the track!!

Im now waiting on my screw kit and header/pipe for this thing then re-assembly will begin!!

Went w/ 30wt in front and rear diffs. (got that from thermal, so if it dont work out I have someone other than myself to blame!!)LOL!
and 60wt at the corners w/ stock springs for now.
Did some dremeling here and there and slimming her up for summer!!

Used some body posts from my clod days and really narrowed up the mounting positions, might open up a few more body options!

Noticed the stock rear wheels seemed to have some slop in them, a little more than normal I think but again not sure!?

I forgot how much I REALLY dislike phillips head screws!!!!
