hi...does anyone know a fuel tank replacement for the rtx that does not get leaned out so bad like the stock? sorry if this has been addressed in this thread already I did not have time to look through all the pages....also ALFFA164 I am from Fort Lauderdale not far from you ..do you know any good bashing areas around our vicinity? ....let me know if you do ..thanks ...here is my rtx tell what ya think

messn03 -> RE: Anyone Own a RT-X 27? (11/20/2009 11:53 AM)

The best fix for the tank is to use a small drill bit and hone down the hinge hole where it attaches making sure the cap seats flush, use some fuel tubing to get better closure over the springs. If you water test it and no air bubbles are there, it solves alot of the lean out problems. Time your fuel consumptin and top off when you get low...Later.. Mess [:@]....Love the 'Bug body!! are you stock??

reanimate8000 -> RE: Anyone Own a RT-X 27? (11/20/2009 2:38 PM)

yeah its all stock under that beetle body... I love baja bugs ...but I think that slash size SC truck bodies look really good on the rtx too....I want to paint up a few more bodz up ...I am gonna run that super tiger till it ****s the bed on me...then I will get an axial or lrp or what ever...I baby the rtx though so that ST should last a bit ..I drive a savage for complete bashiness..I bought that rtx when they went 200 bucks at tower and I had a coupon code for another 30 off plus free shipping ..I couldnt pass it up....its a good truck I dont know why many people hate it...it handles way better then my savage on a race track ...I really like it and I am puzzled to why it got discontinued seems like a platform that duratrax could keep improving ..just hope we can keep getting parts for quite a while

messn03 -> RE: Anyone Own a RT-X 27? (11/20/2009 2:41 PM)

If you go Axial or LRP Z 28 or 30..stock up on pinions for the diff.-it eats them. Working on a fix...Later...Mess[:@]

reanimate8000 -> RE: Anyone Own a RT-X 27? (11/20/2009 4:41 PM)

you know I have an extra savage 4.6 engine that I won off ebay for like 80 bones a while back.....when the super tigre turds out on me I will just use that one...its fast enough for this thing and that engine is reliable as a ****.... the rtx is like a back up truck anyways its fun to cruise around with but I dont seriously bash and thrash it like I do with my savage...I know this trucks place in the RC kingdom and drive it accordingly...I really think that duratrx should have just made improvements on this platform to toughen it up and kept it in their line up ...the vendetta series is a really good line up of cars ...so duratrax does make good stuff..I guess they just gave up on the old warhead/rtx...I wouldnt have even bought it but at 170 bones with free shipping ..you cant beat that with a poop covered stick

BRUSSER -> RE: Anyone Own a RT-X 27? (12/2/2009 5:33 AM)

well fellows i instal the os 30vg; works fine and sounds great, at this time my only complait is the flywheel the stock one seems to light for the engine any sugestion onwhich othr flywheel can i use. Again thanks for your support.

hunternaf -> RE: Anyone Own a RT-X 27? (2/28/2010 4:44 AM)

wow read all 49 pages over the last couple of weeks lots of good post on engine changing and upgrades, some repairs and no post for a couple of months, I own a RT-X27 and an evo (needed to buy the evo for my wife so I would have someone to race) both stock with aluminum front bulkheads and both run well with sealed engines I do have occasional troubles with temps and will be checking the fuel tanks and caps or replacing I really liked the pic of the tank on the back maybe it would wheely with the weight behind the axle, I have about 4 gallons of fuel (15% with 18% oil) through the RT-X and it runs great still. The only problem I have been having is keeping the clutch clip on. sorry for the book just checking to see if anyone is still out there

messn03 -> RE: Anyone Own a RT-X 27? (2/28/2010 1:42 PM)

I still wrench on them and am around for help. I thing your best bet would be to replace the pilot shaft w/ on Ofna unit which uses a hex screw to hold it. I'll see if I can find one and send the link. There is constant action in the "Anyone Own a Warhead " forum if you have more questions. I think now that the RTX and Warhead is Discontinued, people have lost interest in this forum?? I run team Losi now(bash and race w/ a Muggy)...Later...Mess[:@]

hunternaf -> RE: Anyone Own a RT-X 27? (2/28/2010 7:59 PM)

pretty sure I bought some duratrax parts off you from evilbay, started reading the warhead stuff but thought it would take forever to get through the 500 plus pages, have searched for specifics gary

ALFFA164 -> RE: Anyone Own a RT-X 27? (3/1/2010 2:16 PM)

brusser, check my gallery you will be able to find there the best setup i ever achieved for my Evo.

silverman1 -> RE: Anyone Own a RT-X 27? (3/11/2010 6:01 PM)

I have a almost new warhead rtx and a brand new raze truggy, I am considering selling both of them, only for the reason that I am concerned about getting parts for both of them. The warhead motor was rebuilt under warranty, I pulled it apart and sealed it just to be on the safe side. Its a shame the warhead is a really nice good handling truck, it handles better than my savage.

What do you think guys should I cut my losses or keep these 2 vehicles?????

messn03 -> RE: Anyone Own a RT-X 27? (3/11/2010 6:12 PM)

Unfortunately the parts are hard to come by and quite expensive now from Tower Hobbies and even e-bay. I heard the Raze is a good truggy with a different type of super tiger motor than the warhead. Check out Advantage Hobbies.com and see what prices they have and what's available. They ship fast and give a club discount. Otherwise if they are in good condition, consider PARTING them out on E-Bay..I made alot on the last ones I did!...JMO...Later...Mess[:@]

messn03 -> RE: Anyone Own a RT-X 27? (3/12/2010 11:45 AM)

Gearing Q: if I run a 13 t clutch bell w/ stock spur it will have more low-end correct?? Thanks! Mess[:@]

j.newton007 -> RE: Anyone Own a RT-X 27? (3/13/2010 12:24 AM)

Mess, Your right. More torque , more take off, but slower top speed. What motor you running and what size tires? Smaller tires can give you better low end too.

messn03 -> RE: Anyone Own a RT-X 27? (3/13/2010 12:55 PM)

Hey j.! he's running an LRP Z28 w/ Pro-Line 40 series street tires...mess[:@]
