Finally got the diffs and shocks done and assembled along w/ the screw kit. Shaved off a nice rounded notch (that make sense!??) in the chassis for the smaller rounded type header and thought things were going well......thats untill I started to disamble the engine from my rtr to use the flywheel, clutch, etc. and to my suprise the shaft is not at all what I was expecting!!! I was hoping for a nice easy transfer from the stock to the 427 and low and behold different shaft types!! Kinda threw my night all off, goin to call it quits for now and debate on whether or not to re-assemble the stocker and throw that in there for now or just hold off and try to get a muggy/LST2/8 t clutch set up for the 427!!!?

Got all excited for nothing it seems for now, at least after ripping the rtr apart and building up my (wanna be) racer I pretty much know how to wrench on this thing pretty good now!!LOL

Sikntired, i found the same thing when test fitting some motors. You'll need to use a relatively short clutch nut. I found the one from my TTR ST1 is nice n' short, should make the drop in easy. I also found after all is said and done, that the screw holding it all in place hits the tranny. So use a button head screw when holding that clutch bell on. Not the larger cap head screws. Also found the large pullstart on the LRP .28 hits one of the braces. So anything with a HUGE pullstart will be an issue. All in all, you shouldnt have many problems dropping a motor in there. Not anything too challenging. I did run my stocker a bit more today. It seems to be waking up a bit.

Mess, if you wanna hit a track real soon, why dont you come to factory tracks. There is a trophy race this weekend. I'll have my RTX with me, along side my revo, and my LST2. There should be quite a few Revos for ya to beat up on.

Hey Mess, here is the link to the site for that track. This Sunday is a trophy race. Should be a good turnout. Come out and race some MT's with us. Also, stop in the factory tracks racers thread in this MT section and meet the rest of the MT racers there.

Factory Tracks Raceway

You'll also find updated pics of the layout in our thread. Probably a few pages back now. That Platinum does look sick. Got mine on order.

Thermal, good looking out!! Havent fooled w/ it for a minute now still waiting/looking for a clutch combo to put on the 427.
I also noticed the pullstart issue and opened the triangle shape cut out when opening the cut out behind it for the header!
After reading your opinions on this thing I cant wait to get this thing going!!!!

For whoms interested I went w/:
four shock set up w/ stock shocks, 60wt shock oil all around w/ stock springs (for now, we'll see how they work)
DIFFS: 30wt in front and 20wt rear
lost the front and rear bumpers, LOSI 8T wheels/tires (though they seem to be heavier than stock!)
JR steering servo, moved stock steering servo throttle/brake,
spektrum radio/rec, goin to try to run w/ 4 2500mah AAs for rec. (see how it works, never tried it before!!??)
R/C screwz kit

Messn03, Im on Gibraltar rd, just before Telegraph. Were actually in the process of selling our condo and purchasing a home, going back to my roots.....Dearborn Heights, well Im from Taylor but close enough!!LOL

Ive wanted to head up to the FTR track many, many times but quite frankly its abit far for a solo mission w/ nothing to run; besides I know absolutely NO ONE there!!LOL And the couple times I made it out to DB's it seemed a tad bit competitive for me, plain and simple I pretty much suck and compared to some of those guys would be nothing more than a road block or speed bump and dont really care to be yelled at!! There are few outdoor tracks down around are way that arent too shaby at all. Zero Gravity on Telegraph behind the Ice Box and the one next to the church out in Monroe, its a pretty nice size track!!

Sounds like you have a nice race setup sikntired. Its too bad you arent coming to the race this weekend. If not to race, just to watch, and meet some guys. Its true, this hobby can get competitive. The MT class has some very good drivers. This Sunday i look to have a good race with the RT-X. If for some reason the engine is holding me back too much, i'll have my LST2, and my 3.3 Revo with me. But im planning on racing the RT-X as of now. If you should decide to come out and watch the race, be sure to find the monster truck guys. Ask anyone in there for me by my real name Matt Butler. Im sure someone will point ya in the right direction. If not, i'll be the only guy with an RT-X. Atleast to my knowledge. And i believe you know my paint scheme on my other trucks. It would be nice to get some of you Michigan monster truckers involved, and try to get you guys to the races with us this spring/summer. I see alot of other names on this forum from Michigan, just hoping to get em to the races with their MT's. Oh, and btw, heres my RT-X, all set for the track.

Thanks for the video David. This truck may just be geared for top end. I really wish i would have taken the time to count the teeth on the ring and pinion while i had that diff apart. That .32 does not seem to be moving that truck real well. And i dont mean that at all to be rude in any way. What other motors have you run, and how have they compared to that Axial .32? Im just trying to gauge the performance a bit better. Just to see if its that motor, or the trucks gearing. Now im even more tempted to throw another motor in here. BTW, i've got my truck back together after the wreckage at the track last time out. Unfortunately due to breaking during practice, i didnt get any lap times that i wanted to get. Shes back together though, and hoping next time out will go a bit better.
