Questions for you guys. Havent had time to fool around w/ the truck for awhile and started to last night. Was trying a few things and noticed that the rear drives shaft has NO play back and forth while the front seems fine!!?? I have an RTR on but its all packed up and dont really feel like unpacking it just to check!
Once I get the shaft problem worked out I will hopefully be testing it sometime this week!!!!

On a side note anyone looking for a great deal on one of these hit me up, got a BRAND NEW RTR one sitting here wanting a new home give someone a heck of a deal on it!!!!!!!

Sorry for the lack of update Rob. I cant get to the races tomorrow, and next weekt hey have a big electric race. So i''ll likely get back to the track the week after. But if the weather picks up this week, i''ll be running it some more in the yard. But i really wanna get it on the track again.

i understand....that stinks for ya though. i wasnt being pushy and i dont think you took it that way but you know how these keyboards make ya sound sometimes..

I have owned one of these for a few weeks now. Maye almost a month. Honestly its my first nitro probally since I was 12 yrs old (use to play w/ my uncles grasshopper back then lol), I'm soon to be 31. Anyways.. I've probally ran about hmm a gal through it so far. Only problem is that when I was in test mode. My tank appeared feathery when taken out of the box during inspection at the seal/ridge of the tank. So obviously it was going to go bad sooner or later. And it has. But considering that, and I've not done any up grades. Other then your average maintance and pre trip inspection (if you want to call it that) lube'n, and etc that is done prior to test runs. I can say I am still very happy w/ this truck. I have bashed the heck out of this thing. And still nothing has broken. (even aquired a dent cuz over throttled in the air once lol) {but I'm getting better at manipulating airiel roll}. With each new tank that goes through the engine. I notice there is a little more speed/power. (I've found 4 2/3 turns to be the sweet spot for my truck) So for what its worth thats my what my opinion is.. Figured before I baught something, I need something that could with stand a beating. Something that was somewhat easy to work on. And something that was not going to spend more time sitting then driving. So far, all my exspectations have been met.

Though I'll take back what I said in the above. I have added a inline fuel filter. So theres a slight upgrade lol..

Word of advice to anyone that buys one of these. Do a pre trip inspection prior to driving it. And make sure all the bolts, screws and nuts are TIGHT. Cuz if I wouldn't have my tranny and my wheels may of fallen off in my first test run.

The old Warhead engine was a G27CX and the new one is G27CS. I suppose that makes a big difference idk. Well, I guess 3rd try is a charm.

From what I have read, heard, etc. Even though I'm a super noob lol.. Is that Duratrax has listened to they're customers. And have added some / most of the components that people were wanting.  Some of the posts here in this topic are better detailed then probally what I could describe. Check them out. I've heard many say that this vehicle is better then the Warheads, as in how it comes out of the box. I can't say race wise only cuz like I said. I'm super noob. And your driving skills would probally destroy my driving skills regardless of the vehicle used lol..

sikn ~ I don't know if your refering to when the vehicle is "parked" and turned "off", or when idling. However right now as parked, i have any play in both drive shafts. As "parked" and off each moves maybe hmm about 1/8 of a inch in either direction from center. So hopefully this helps ya.

It looks like its a bit too little, too late. Everyone familiar with MT knows that the RX27 is essentially a Warhead, and the very mention of Warhead gets about a positive of a response as Ebola virus.
Too bad, because I love my Warhead.........most days I prefer it over my MGT 8.0

xraycer71 - So taking the current RT-X, would you recommend it to someone? I'm looking for my first MT (my previous trucks have been stadium trucks: Evader and RC10GT). In your opinion, does this hold up comparably to the MGT/Revo/Savage? I just want it to be in the ballpark.. the evader wasn't even close in stock form.

My friend has one and his boy beats it up pretty good..the motor runs strong( for a super tiger, heard it is a differnt model than the Warhead of past thank god!) AFA comparison to HPI Savage, T-Maxx, Revo every one of these have their "quirks" but it's a hobby that takes patience and learning..read reviews and you'll find what you want most out of them allLaterMess

I actually disagree. Reviews measure performance, adjustability (is that a word?), etc. They simply do not review long enough to measure durability. One good example is the Nitro Evader. That truck received very good reviews across the board when it released. The actual real-world opinion of the truck however is quite different. I am not making that mistake again.

I have all that you listed and would not trade any of them. But what I found to be the most durable is the savage. I love my warhead but it took a lot of work to get it perfect. The revo and t-maxx are great trucks but I know my buddy went threw a lot of suspension parts and engines. The warhead had a lot of problems but I think they have fix most of the issues. The warhead and savage are built very strong but I would say the savage plastic is stronger. But you do get the one year warranty with the warhead on the plastic parts. So that’s my two cents I hope it helps. And let us know what you get.

Maybe so. But me being super noob. Before I baught my rt - x27 i did more research then I care to comment on. Though maybe im just a rc junky now? lol.. Anyways, everyone has they're own favorites. If I could go back to before i was a teenager long ago. I'd probally spy tech my uncle to see what he did with that old Grasshopper.

I know the rt -x has some parts that don't come on the warhead. Not saying this or that vehicle is better or worse cuz there are still areas of each that are similar. Just saying from my point of view as a "very new novice to rc" that for me. It was a great choice. I'm usually the guy that can perfect something to a science eventually, yet still manages to push the limits beyond pushing the limits and then ka-plunk lol. So for this thing to still be running like a mad machine, its probally the best money I have spent in a very long time. (just don't repeat that to my girlfriend) lol..

Just wish i could find a clear body that I want lol.. I know theres tons of bodies out there. Just can't seem to find what I'm looking for though

I'm not seeing/hearing a lot of problems with the RTX27 and I love my WH, so sure I would recommend it. Honestly, I got the WH just because I liked how it looked, like a MT and not a truggy. I didn't really care too much on things like: how it performed on the tracks or if it was blistering fast. As it turns out, the WH handles very well and can take a bit of a licking. Owning the MGT, I would also recommend the MGT, not a great handler, but its tough, fast, easy to work on, and BIG. I've never had the chance to run a Revo or Savage, but you can clearly see they have a ton of happy owners. I would say just get the truck that most appeal to you and what you're looking to do with it.
