I started when I was 15. Then I found cars and girls. I didn't come back to it until I was 30 and with two young kids of my own finding the time to go flew is a challenge in of itself.

I started when I was 7 years old with rubber free flight. That was 1937. Progressed to engine powered free flight at age 11 (1941). Started R/C in 1957. Have been a consecutive member of both AMA and STARS model airplane club for 62 years. Now at age 73 I am still very active in R/C scale.

So to all the youngsters that read this - stay in the hobby. You won't be sorry when you reach my age. Building and flying models keeps me young.

Started at 13 and now at the age of 38.... wow 25 years of flying and I still screw up on a regular basis. Some people are naturals, sadly others are not.

OK how is this not the youngest but the oldest turbine pilot. Guy in Florida named Don Huffman 78 years old and still flying the hell out of turbines. I hope at his age I am fortunate enough to be able to see what the plane looks like.

A guy in our club is teaching his seven year old son how to fly... and the kid is not bad at it, not bad at all! He's a better pilot than some of the "older" people, that's for sure...

I'm pretty sure he will be competing in fun flies or something next year.

I started out at 12, am 27 now...

I started when i was 12, I am now 30. My son is 2, and loves to watch, and "help" he also "flys/crash" the G2 sim, on the computer. He has a year or two to get the hang of it, before he will get his own plane.

I am 67 years old and just getting started in R/C flying with a Slow Stick an NSP EZ 400G and a Wingo. Biggest problem is that this time of year in N. Illinois it is to windy most of the time for these slow flyers.
