The same way you stick it on, with a trim iron.

Heat a corner, or any area you can get your fingers onto, and gently pull it away while moving your iron along.

I have removed covering with a heat gun which softens up a larger area at a time. Just apply enough heat to warm the covering, not shrink it.

Cheers

I just did one this week. I like the heat gun. For example on the wings. I ran the heat gun around all four edges. I would move it slow enough so the two layers would roll away from each other and start to peel. Then I started at one end, held light pressure and applied the heat. You will know when you have the right amount of heat/pressure when the covering comes up without leaving any color on the wood. If your hands are sensitive to heat a pair of leather gloves would be handy. I did this on the whole plane and left no residue. Total time was about 90 minutes. This was on a 67" span plane that was unassembled.

I also use the heat gun. Just slowly heat and pull.

I use this thin blade, less than 1mm thick to work under and remove old monokote without leaving any color . I also use heat gun but it will leave some color most every time. You can pick off any pieces the blade might leave. Good luck
