I put the wings on mine after getting all the radio gear in place minus the receiver battery pack. Marked the top of the wings with tape and a marker at 3 3/8". Then set the plane inverted on my home made COG stand. Gently let go anticipating having to catch the plane tipping front or back. It stayed where I placed it, no movement. I look around to see what the plane was hitting on the bench. Nothing, free air ! Perfect balance out of the box. I think that is the first time that has ever happened to me.

Then I had to alter the compartment just behind the fuel tank so I could put the receiver battery on COG. The battery packs I have were just a little too thick to fit on the shelf without interfering with the top of the wing, once the wing is on the fuselage. I cut out the center of the shelf and made a recessed area for the battery to sit in. It almost could be called a pocket. I went through all this trouble so I could use different packs without having to worry about COG balance when changing batteries. As long as the pack is at COG I can put any pack I want in the plane at the field with no fuss.

What kind of run time should we expect out of this plane and the Saito 100 ? This is my first Saito 100 and have no idea how much fuel it burns.

Status: offline 		My Pulse 60 balanced perfectly with the Saito 100 also. I also had problems with the hatch not opening until I seen I was using the wrong bolts fot the motor mounts. The correct bolts are short enough to allow the hatch to open correctly. I spent 2 hours cutting on the factory spinner and finally got it to work with a 14x6 APC prop! The spinner still will not hold well enough with a 14x8 MAS prop to keep from spinning off when I apply the electric starter. Do you think the 14x6 APC will work or should I get a 14x8 APC? I am having trouble keeping the wheel pants tight, I put lock tight on the threads but they still will move if you bump them, any suggestions?

Status: offline 		My wheel pants shift around a small bit too. I think they are ok though it looks like they are on the way they are supposed to be. The bolt is tight but there is only 1 each so it can pivot on that and only has the axel bolt to hold it from moving to much. I would just pick up a 2 1/2" spinner so you can use the correct prop size and not have problems.

Status: offline 		Mine was missing parts also.Top hatch was glued down(had to cut off),holes in wheel pants don't line up so one points down the other points up,the screws that hold the cowl on don't match the threads in the blind nuts,had to replace throttle tube due to a large glob of glue inside the tube,elevater halfs are off by about 3/16 of an inch from one side to the other and with an os .61 I had to mount the battery back in the tail right behind the wing bolts.But all in all the covering job was nice.This is not my first plane either I have built close to 13 arf's and many of them being Hanger 9's this is by FAR the worst one,I think I will strip electonics and donate to our club for a beater plane.Thank god I work at a hobby store and didn't pay full price!!

Status: offline 		Dang zippyz I am glad I did not get your box. You work for a hobby shop ? Surely you must have a contact at Horizon Hobby to lodge a complaint and get some results ? If you are going to strip it and donate it to a worthy cause you want my address ?

My elevator had a tiny misalignment also. Mine was about 3/32". Took about two minutes with a heat gun to fix it. What is annoying with my elevator is my JR DS821 servo does not go back to center from up elevator. It remains about 1/16" from returning to absolute neutral. From down elevator the servo goes back to center nicely.

I weighed mine this evening thinking about an earlier post where karl hibbs said his came in at 7 1/2 pounds. Mine weighs even less ! 7# 1.4 oz with a five cell 2650mah nimh battery pack. Only thing left to put in my Pulse XT 60 is fuel.

My rudder throw is way less than the 3" recommended in the manual at 2". The elevator is slightly less, which I will not worry about. Ailerons are right on the mark. The push rod is in the mddle hole on the rudder horn. I realize I could move it to the inside hole and gain a little more throw. Instead I orderd a pack of the Dubro 671 super strength JR long servo arms. One of the three different lengths of arms in the pack should do the trick.

Actually mine did the same on the first flight,[top hatch flew off]just put a rubber band in through the ply in the hatch and zip tied the other end in the fuse,can't even see the band and looks quite normal.
The tank is the issue with the hatch lifting,just put a piece of foam and a zip tie and the problem is solved
Mine has been in the air now enough times to have swallowed 5 litres of fuel,my biggest problem is getting both my Pulse planes back from my mates,they love them both ,the 60 mainly but still want to fly the 40 as well LOL LOL

Are you guys using the Velcro straps included with the kit to hold the tank in place ? I just cannot visualize how the tank is moving if the tank is strapped down. In any case, I will do something to make certain my tank cannot move before I maiden the plane weekend. I might CA a piece of balsa in back of the tank.

The velcro straps aren't strong enough to hold the tank in place,there is a gap at the rear of the tank in the fuselage,Ca a pieace of balsa will give the same result,the foam just allows the freedom to remove the tank without any issues of removing a piece of balsa

Status: offline 		It's not the up and down movement of the tank,it's the way the tank can actually slide rearward with the vibration
This is what dislodges the the top hatch,once you stop this the hatch is not an issue
The guys just love this plane more than it's baby brother
I've just got to take enough fuel to the field for them and me

Status: offline 		Mine is all ready to go and sitting in a cradle in the van waiting for Saturday. Radio programmed with dual rates and the plane thoroughly checked out. I was going to break in the engine after work today. Behind a building at work I have a table set up with restraining posts just for running up my planes. Forgot the receiver pack and transmitter. They are sitting on the counter where I put them yesterday evening so I would not forget them this morning. Oh well, there is always tomorrow.

This evening I must remember to alter the fuel tank so it will not slide around.

Status: offline 		Hi all. Got my Pulse XT last night and I started on it this morning. It in pretty good shape with very little wrinkles. The one thing I didn't like was the workmanship on the installation of the ailerons, elevator & rudder. There is CA smeared all over the ultracote.

I tried to get the hatch off and it won't budge. No screws installed in the firewall yet. How do you guys remove the hatch without damaging it?
