I've just assembled the 60 xt and have a question. With the elevator max throw at 1-1/8" has anyone seen any bad flight conditions from this amount of throw. Just seems a lot for this type plane, any thoughts will be appreciated, thanks, Jarvey

The recommended throws are fine. You will especially need all of the 3" of rudder travel for good knife edge and snap maneuvers. This is a very docile airplane with no surprises or bad habits.

I use a Magnum XL 91 FSR in mine, and it has excellent vertical performance. Unlimited is in the eye of the beholder or in this case it's as far up as I can see to control it. I doubt you'll be disappointed unless you're one of those that always likes to go a step above the manufacturer's recommend power range.

Thanks for the information. Sounds good to me just want to have enough power to get out of trouble if needed.

Hi Steve

I found one at my LHS! most of the places I saw on line where on back order.

Right now I have the BL60 in my Hangar 9 Pawnee with the CC80amp and 6sp2 A123 15x8 prop.
I thought it wouldn't be that hard to switch the motor and ESC between planes. This would save over $200 of the cost of the Pulse.
looks like you got two 7s packs in your plane? I'm hoping 12 A123 cells will power the Pulse that way I can use the same batteries.
Any thoughts on how it will fly on the two 6s A123 packs I have?

I have had my Pluse 60 ready to fly for a few weeks now, every time I have the spare time to fly the weather is bad only to clear up on a work day. I have taken a few photo's so I will post them here, the engine option is quite different from most. While most people usually write about how they managed to shoe horn in some much larger beast than what the designer intended, I went the other way with an OS50sx. Why, well it is still new and was previously in a CMPRO Giles 202 which I killed with some low level spins....! The OS impressed me with how easerly it pulled the bulky fueslarge of the 202 around and I was looking for a new model for it when I saw this one. I know it will not go vertical out of sight, but it should provide more than enough performance (fingers crossed) to be a fun "throw the sticks in the corner" model. The power out put of the 50sx was only just behind their 60FX so it will be interesting to see what happens when I finally get the time to fly it. Matt

Hi Matt

I can tell you that the 60 handles well at any speed and your engine choice will work just fine as well as provide for slower landings at idle. Where did you get the red pilot figure and what size is it? If you have a link, please post it.

Thanks

Has anyone had any problems taxiing this plane? Mine tends to nose forward while taxiing on grass. Once on the paved runway, all is well. I'm wondering if I need to turn the landing gear around face forward.

Go to a larger wheel. The low profile tends to let a 16" prop bump the grass. A 15x10 will also solve the problem.

Not trying to be silly,but
"Have you got the undercart the right way round'?
I put the undercart reversed on my 40 Pulse by mistake and had to taxi it using full back stick on the elevator to stop nose over, once I reversed it it's perfect.
My 60 size Pulse is perfect to taxi, never looks like nosing over,I run a 16" prop without using any back stick on the elevator during taxi or run up.
Our field is nothing more than a paddock that we mow the strip into, the horses that live in the paddock always kick divots out of our taxiways and especially the runway, which we have to repair each time we use the strip,so if a plane was going to nose over our field would be the place.

We have lots of deer and armadillos that create divots in our grassy areas. The landing gear is mounted according to the book. The holes will only match up one way. I've had two ppl suggest larger wheels to solve the problem, believe that's what'll I'll try before I start redrilling holes to turn the gear around....
