Dennis, that vid at the beginning of the thread is awesome. Is that a JConcepts Illuzion "Tango" body you have on it?

I stupidly cooked my SH28 P3 and its only had half a gallon through it. I am really interested in dropping in your modded piston and sleeve. It seems to be the same price as your XTM 457, 6 PORT, so is it the 6port sleeve with some port work done?

I have a Redcat Monsoon truggy with the SH M28 P3, let my know what my options are, cheers.

lol yeah I though the I knew what I was doing too.

So did you also have the SH M28 P3 engine? And you just dropped the P3 Mod piston and sleeve in it? Is the P3 Mod a 6 port sleeve?

Actually, I think that the p3 mod sleeve is the same as the XTM 457 Sleeve. If I remember correctly, SH makes the motors for XTM. Sh makes the 6 port .28 for xtm and they also have a 6 port they sell themselves http://www.shengines.com/TECHDATA_PT2803A-P6.htm

This is the .28 the redcats come with http://www.shengines.com/TECHDATA_PT2802B-P3.htm

I'm not 100% sure, so we will have to wait until clermont responds to be sure.

on a side note, I see on the sh site, there is also a 8 port .28 http://www.shengines.com/TECHDATA_PT28XM1AC-P8.htm

I wonder if that sleeve fits and how that would work

yes the xtm piston and sleeve fits right in. The xtm 6 port piston and sleeve has a b it more porting done to stock compared the sh but all part numbers are the same. Thats why we experimented.

That's because they are the same engine. Check out the Global Hobbies forum. XTM and SH are the same engines.

So the p3 mod on your website is the sh 6 port sleeve or the xtm 6 port sleeve, or are they the same? If the XTM has more porting, then that would be a better choice?

Just checking because my LHS has the xtm sleeve and piston.

Think the 8 port SH sleeve would fit?

I kind of want to try that, but I don't know where to get one though

6 port sleeve for the XTM and the XTM is the same engine as SH, they just changed the name from SH to XTM.

Actually the point was that they are the same company and to get to the real point there the same engine with different sleeves.

actually, the p6 and the xtm have different sleeves. Even though the part number is the same, the porting is different. Also, the block and crank is slightly different. And to clear it up, yes the 6 port fits in the p3.

So in your opinion, which sleeve is better for the p3? The xtm 457 sleeve or the sh p6 sleeve?
