I have to say, I have flown many, many different planes, and the one I still talk about and recommend to anyone for training and just having fun is the Hangar 9 cherokee 40 , I had a OS max 40 in mine and it was plenty. This plane was incredible for slow flight , semi acrobatics , and just having fun. I used to fly this plane behing my house sometimes , taking off on a 12 ft dirt section and making a slow , slow final , landing 2 ft in front of me.. , One day while I was flying at sunset , I caught a good look at the sun, thats all it took, I lost sight of my plane , and everything else for about a minute , and that was the end of that one. Im now looking on getting another one of these, I would highly reccommend this plane to anyone.

I just bought the cherokee and I am excited to get it in the air.. There are a couple of questions I had for you though...The wingtips and cowl are a different blue than the covering of the airplane. This is kind of dissappointing. I know I am not going to submit my airplane in a beauty contest but it's nice when at least the colors match...I don't know if Hangar 9 is trying to save money or what... also, I don't see how the fuel tank is secured in it's position. It's not clear in the manual...Thanks for your time....

I wonder how well a 70 fs would fit into this plane?

The cherokee 40 is what i think is the best for your buck deal around at horizon.
flys great easy build priced right. I fly off from grass so larger tires are used.
this well be my 3rd year and take it to the field every time.use a OS 46 .

What size wheels do you use? I may go for 2" Dubro bounce...I will be flying in grass as well...Do you use the wheel pants? Thanks for your time...

I used Dave Brown Lite Flite Wheels 3" because the grass grows fast in upstate NewYork
and saves props on harder landings.i'm sure 2" will be just fine.
No i don"t use the wheel pants. But read in a review awhile back that the 2" can be used
with a little cutting and mod. The plane sure looks nice with them on.

HAPPY FLYING

How long would you say it took to assemble this ARF? What did you think of the construction? Was the N number already on the fuse or was it a decal?

Thanks everyone in advance for your input!

I'm thinking of getting this plane and put my 46LA in it. already has a 3-baded prop and would look great on it. It's blue so the engine should blend in pretty well. I'm thinking low and slow. I've already got several aerobats so that's not the issue. Heck, I've even thought of putting my old Saito 50 in it and flying it with that! I'm going to weigh each one and see which is lighter. I'm thinking the 46LA will be lighter. But, the Saito is waiting for an airframe. Decisions, decisions!

For those of you who have flown this plane, you say it's good at slow speeds....I want this plane, because when I got my private pilot license, it's what I flew. I'd like to train a couple friends on this airplane.....kill two birds with one stone. Actually, I do have a 81" Cub, would it be better to train the guys on?
