Ok - I'll declare my interest first.
I am the Australian agent for RCGF. - Now I'll explain why that is.
I have been using their engines for a while now (In china) and was so happy with their reliability that when i heard they were looking to expand their business, I decided to take them on. I've only had the agency for a few months but is is rapidly growing and a few customers have come back and purchased additional engines for their next projects.

I have been flying a "side induction" (actually - it's on the bottom of the crankcase) 100cc for about 3 months now (They haven't been on the market very long) in a 35% Edge with about 60 flights on it in that time. I have also bench tested the Rear induction (I haven't finished that plane yet). It is even better than the side induction on performance.

I am pretty happy with it - I also have experience with DA100's so I have some of the best engines to compare them with - Performance is very similar - with the Rear induction performing better than the DA on the same size props. I get about 350 RPM more on the rear induction and about 200 RPM more from the side induction version than I do out of the DA on a 27/10 prop.

So - In summary - Great value for money. Their service is good, I have yet to experience a warranty claim, (I have an agreement with the manufacturer that I will sevice the claims so I know that the Aussie Agent will supply GREAT service).

Hi There,
I will jump in here also, I am the South African Agent for RCGF.
The 100cc I tested for the first time on Sunday. I have every RCGF motor running in planes and they all perform as well or better than much higher priced "Brand" Motors

The 100cc rear induction started within 4 flips (brand New) once primed, and ran smooth immediately. After about 10 minutes of setting needles and warming up, the motor was opened up. 6800 RPM on a Menz S 28X8 and very smooth.
A friend of mine was there with a well run in DA100, he only gets 5600RPM on a JFX 26X12, so, as AUSSIESTEVE has said, it seams stronger than a DA 100
I am currently busy speaking to the Factory to improve the workmanship on the muffler, don't get me wrong, they are very sturdy, and will not fail, but as you can see from the pictures, they do not line up very well.

I would not hesitate to buy a RCGF if I was you, as an Engine this good, for half the price??????
I will go fly it tomorrow, and let you know what it dose with a 30 Lbs Yak at 6800 foot ASL

As for the Warranty claim issue, I had an Ignition go bad on a 45cc (it's Rcexl, I distubute these also) and I had a new one within 10 days, not bad considering it's not there product.

Hy Yak,
the standoffs that you see in the picture, I made as the Yak had a diffrent motor on it before.
The motor comes with 3cm long standoffs and a set of mufflers, these are the ones that you se in the picture's. Very well made.
Bearings are NSK made in Japan and of very good quality.

Ask away.

Is the RCGF manufactured by the same company that makes the 3mm? Mufflers look the same which led to the question.

Yeah - they have a listing in the RCU "new products" but don't bother about telling us who the North American/U.S. distributers are, and how much they cost. Their website isn't much more help either, but show pix of their other engines.

I am not sure if they have a US distributor yet. A Friend of mine (Whom I met here) has been talking with the company and I believe he has placed his first order for stock.

I'll go home at lunch time and get the measurement for you yak54. I can't give you the exact measurement right now but It is very close to the DA in dimensions.

driesbabe mentioned the muffler alignments. My most recent purchase has had that problem solved. One of the great things about this company is that they readily accept feedback. I have been working with them for a while now and they have incorporated every suggestion that I have given them. This is a company that is determned to succeed in bringing a top quality, affordable engine to the market. They do a lot of research, testing and development in house. These are not simply copies of other motors nor are they just weedeater motors packaged as RC engines.

OK Guys,

How much & where can you get them?

I have a mate that has a 88" yak with a 3MM 53. It flys great, but needs more power. This could be the ticket if the price is wright.

Cheers
Grossy

Pat, No they do not manufacture the 3mm motor, as far as I know the 26cc, 45cc, 50cc, 65cc and the 100cc are the only products that they make.
A family runs the factory, and as Aussiesteve has said, they really want to be the best they can. These are real people that can be trusted and if any problems arise they will deal with it and not just ignore you like so many other Chinese factories I have dealt with.
e.g. I had one 26cc come with a standoff bolt that was not properly made, I asked for better QA, and not only received more Bolts added to my next order, but also it seams every engine is properly checked now, as I have not had any more like this.

There engines come with painted Heads, I asked to have mine unpainted, and they now come unpainted.

I am quite sure that we will in future encounter some problems with the odd motor here or there (as none is perfect), but with the sort of back up and feedback from the factory, I can only see this becoming the next "DL"

Oh, if you guys want to find more info on one of their engines, check out a topic called "PEAK 65" that is there 65cc engine. This engine got me to find RCGF, I started it and it ran perfectly from day one and has now got about 30 gallons through it, still getting stronger.

Hi Grossy
I just PM'd you with some details on the Aussie Supplier (Me).

I fully endorse all of What driesbabe has said.

Their 65 and 45 have been around for quite a while under a couple of different brand names. The 26, 50 and 100 are much newer models with better power:weight ratios.

there is also a couple of other sizes being R&D'd at the moment but they will not release them to the market until they are 100% happy with the after very extensive testing.
