Now that the club schedules are pretty well set, I'm going to tentatively schedule two race dates for my field outside of Charlotte in Monroe, NC.

These will be 3 pole races on a shortened Short Course. We will race Club 40 using the RCPRO Club 40 Advanced rules at RCPRO Club 40 Rules. Novice class engines will be allowed, but not separated in the racing.

The dates are March 15 with a rain date of March 22. The other date will be April 26 with no rain date.

How do these dates sound and do we want to run Quickie 25 as well as Club 40?

I am good with both classes on either of those dates, Don. Also good with both of the events in SC, James. Still need to check with the higher authority ;-), but at least no known conflicts as of yet. Don't forget, there is also a 424 race at Hodges Hobbies in Americus GA on March 8th. Looks like it will be a busy active season!

Don, I’m hoping to have a couple of Quickie 25 models ready soon. Do you plan to run Q25 if there is enough participation?

Thanks,

Bob Harris

Bob,

I do want to run Quickie 25 at my races in Monroe on the 3 pole course.

I don't know if Quickie 25 will be run at the 2 pole races at Lowe's Motor Speedway. With the races there starting at 12:00, I don't know if there will be enough time. Should be after daylight savings kicks in.

One reason I scheduled my first race for 3-15 is to see how many people are doing Quickie 25. If there are enough we might get to do it at LMS as well.

The big thing I need is for the shy lurkers to speak up. If you don't want to post a message, email me or send me a Private Message.

I will have the registration pages online soon. I'm busting butt trying to get the registration and information site for the 4-12-08 fly-in at Lowe's Motor Speedway ready. If a bunch of people show up at the fly-in with Quickie 25 planes, it will certainly help the cause. The web site for LMS is at LowesRC.com and LMSRC.com. I am adding content to that site daily.

Looks like TX is having a bunch of events also . . . but then again I've heard everything is bigger in TX. Don't you guys allow 60 size motors in your club 40?? ha, ha. If I'm in TX this year I'll bring my sky raider so I can race. thanks - Seth

PS - James I need to get a plane for my 25.

I mowed my runway and takeoff pad on Sunday. I thought the field was going to be too wet for the 3/15 race. It wasn't. But it rained again a lot on Tuesday and there is standing water at one end. It will probably dry up by 3/15.

I can't get everything together to make this an actual race with judges/timers/counters/etc by 3/15. So it will be a practice race at the most.

Would you guys want to come to my place on 3/15, or would you rather invade Lowe's Motor Speedway and get some 2 pole practice in before the 4/12/08 demo?

Don - I don't want to speak for anyone, but I think Vic talked to maybe Evan?? from the Charlotte club about getting together at their field. I'm sure vicman or evan will chime in soon, but I'm game for getting together at Lowe's if that is an option. - Seth
