This is my first gas tank install. I know from my 2 stroke glow experience the ideal location for the tank is as close and slightly below the carb. Is this the same philosophy for a gas install? I understand I do not need to pressurize the tank. In my current build I want to locate the tank above or below the wing tube. A below mount puts the fuel lines about 1" below the carb, and above the tube puts the lines about 1.5 above the carb (sounds like a flooding issue). I have plenty of room in front of the tube if needed but because of changes to CG during flight I am reluctant to locate there. Also, is there a philosopy for mounting the smoke tank. With a pump on the smoke tank I wouldn't think there would be a problem with elevation.

you can pretty much place the fuel tank where you want it. your typical gas engine carb will not flood due to tank location.

Doug,

Do a search, you should find info on 2-line, 3-line, tank installs, etc.

With GAS, the carb will draw the gas and you can pretty much put it where it fits and helps stabilze the CG during flight. All of my set-ups are two line, one pick up line with a tee for fueling and one vent line. Straight forward.

Thanks guys, two line install below tube is going to work well. Ward I am thinking about the 50, but am undecided yet.
