I can get all the Dragon Fly 22e reciever functions to work well out of the box except the throttle contol. Heli batteries are fully charger and receiver batteries are new and all functions work but the receiver throttle control wiil not turn the rotor baldes. Any ideas why this is occurring?

Does the tail motor spin? If so, try swapping the plugs for the main and tail motors and see which motor spins. Make sure the FLIGHT MODE switch on the Tx is in the "N" position and the throttle stick and trim are all the way down. Alwasys turn on the Tx before you plug in the battery on the helicopter and unplug the battery before you turn off the Tx.

no the tail rotor does not spin. Just seems like no power to turn any of the blades even though all other functions work well.

Usually when this happens, it's as JT said. Try it in this order.
1. Turn the throttle on your Tx all the way down.
2. Turn the throttle TRIM on your Tx all the way down.
3. Turn on your Tx.
4. Turn on your heli.

If the throttles aren't all the way down, the motors won't start. It's a safety feature.

Ok, Sorry... I am a complete newbie and am having a difficult time even turning this thing on.

I turned the remote on first then hooked up the battery in the helicopter. My throttle is in the down position however what else needs to be off? Please be specific (ie. the switch below the throttle needs to be far left, etc.)

When I hook up the battery I hear almost like a small air noise - PSST, and the light in the helicopter is blinking red. The remote has full power (in the green).

Any help would be greatly appreciated for this newbie.

Thank you in advance.

The throttle trim is the small slider next to the throttle (not the one below it, that's the rudder trim). The throttle trim should also be all the way down. The FLIGHT MODE switch should be in the N position (not the 1 position). If you have the throttle, throttle trim, and FLIGHT MODE switches all in the proper positions and you still don't get a solid red light, see if when you move the right stick on the Tx the servos move. I'm not positive, but I think the servos will move even if you're still getting a blinking red light. If the servos move it tells us your RF link is working and the trouble is with the throttle position. If the servos don't move, unplug the battery to the heli, turn off the Tx and remove the crystals in both the 4-in-1 and the Tx, spread the pins a little bit, and plug them both in. The crystal in the 4-in-1 has a paper "flag" with the channel or frequency printed on it. You can pull on the flag to get it out. The crystal in the Tx has a plastic cap over it with the frequency printed on it and plugs into the back of the Tx. Just pull out the cap and the crystal will come with it.

Let us know how it goes.

Thank you for the quick response, unfortunately I am still dead in the water...

Where's the FLIGHT MODE switch and what position is it considered in the N position?

The light in the 4-in-1 (helicopter) is still blinking red. Moving the right stick does NOT activate the servos.

I unplugged the battery from the helicopter and turned off the Tx, took out the crystal in the helicopter as well as the Tx. Is there are particular direction the Tx crystal should go in?

What about the DIP switches on the Tx? Should those be set in a particular order/sequence? Currently the configuration is set up as:

1 (up= ON)
2 (down = OFF)
3 & 4 (up = ON)
5-8 (down = OFF)

I have checked the other connections in the helicopter to ensure a tight fit, removed the helicopter crystal several times to make sure it is correctly inserted. Still nothing, light on the helicopter continues to flash red and when I hook up the battery I hear a PSST sound, but servos and throttle will not respond.

Hopefully its ok, I got this from my in-laws for Christmas I never made sure it was working until now.

Uh... this isn't a 22E, is it? What model is it?

It doesn't matter which way the crystals are inserted.

Its a Walkera 4# series, I dont see anyting referencing 22E in the extremely useless User Handbook. The parts list has the following: INDEX of HM-004 Spare Part.

From my research it looks alot like the Dragonfly #4, here's a YouTube video of one that looks just like mine:

Ah... the thread's OP was referring to the 22E. I don't have the #4 (well not the electronics, just the airframe). It could be a DIP switch issue. You could try to see if you get a solid red light with the throttle in the fully up position. You may want to remove the blades first before you try it. Try posting in the #4 thread and I'm sure someone there can give you the correct DIP switch settings.
