here are pics of the wires in the rudder stab and fin for all the scale formation lights. finished sheeting both stabs since the pics. will mount elev and stabs temporary tomorrow as i need to figure out my elev torque rods. I have a good idea i just hav to work it. Mini mag bulbs will work for these and the three colored lights in the fuse botom will be controlled by mike lights. I have used them in my corsair and they work off a channel

Tim,

I've never seen lights in the tips of the stabilizers. Do you have a picture showing them? I am curious to learn about the light locations and colors. I never found any more than 2 landing lights, 2 wing tip lights and 2 fin side lights. I'll have to check the Aero-Detail book later......

THEY WERE THERE VERY LITTLE KNOWN FACT A LOT WERE PAINTED OVER. THEY ARE ON THE REVEL GERMANY 1/48TH KIT AND ON DETAIL AND SCALE FROM OSPRY. GETTING THE ELEV LINKAGE IS A LOT OF FUN(NOT) ILL GET IT BUT ITS NOT SIMPLE LOTS OF GEOMETRY TO WORK OUT. well the linkage isnt too hard after all ive got a drs appt so when i get back ill shoot pics. i have the stabs on. i used a spindle sander and carefully sanded a cove into the te now the stab moves a lot better. I will tell you hooking up to the servos will be a interesting job.

finished the tail elev torque rods. waiting for my aluminum rods to glu stabs on and connect everything back there. did some nose planking and will be done with that tomorrow then sand a bit and using a very sharp blade and the measure twice cut once rule ill cut out the windows in the nose. that will take time to get them spaced right this can make or break the entire thing

well done more nose sheeting i also did the math and scaled from a 1/48 kit to 1/9 is 5.3 so to get the cockpit and other details i bought a 1/48 scale kit. if you measure the lets say seats and multiply by 5.3 you get the scale 1/9.05 close enough for me. my worry was to make the seats and controls too small or big now ill be accurate.

so to convert a 1/48 kit part to 1/9 scale multiply the measure in inches of the plastic kit part by 5.3

the nose is all sanded and looks nice also more sheeting has been applied to the nose. ill post pics tomorow. the entire plane will be glassed with .75 oz glass (i was gonna say monokote just to get you guys mad at me) THAT WOULD BE MODELING BLASPHEMY. I HAVE A TEACHER WORKSHOP TOMORROW AND A 3 DAY WEEKEND. i have done scale calculations for the interior parts ill scratch out of styrene. i need to be careful to rely on monograms 1/48 model for all detail. the have all the radios on the bulkheads but flat. im going to install interior cale lighting. Mike will be glad to hear with all the 1/6 stuff out there i will do that one after this 1/9 scale. yes they will both be electric! its the easy way to go
