Hi Folks,
I posted this earlier today but moving it here as im getting a bit anxious....

Im new to this hobby and yesterday i got my new exceed RC brought over (to Ireland) from America.

Anyways, i followed the instructions to set up the heli last night, switched everything on and when i throole up and down, the blades of the heli will not spin at all. It looks like there is no power getting to the motor.

Everything else looks to be working fine. When i throttle up and down the Pitch servos are moving/working fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Like i said, im new to this hobby and have very little experience with RC helicopters. Hopefully, its all about to improve.

Thanks,
D...

you need to turn this switch that is wired out from the esc. you need to hold for few second till lite stay, then you can throttle it up slowly.

Hi, Thanks for the reply, can you be a little bit more specific?
I am new to this and i need to start with the basics.
Where is this switch and where/what is the 'esc'?
is that the wire out from the heli with the little red button and when you push it, a red led in a little box lites up? If so, i never tried that.

I dont want to be turning too many switches on/off ans i dont want to mess the thing up.

One thing that i noticed last night is that when i turn on the control and then connect the battery in the Heli, the led on the gyro will flash while they are initialising and then after a few seconds will switch off completely. From reading the instructions, the LED in the gyro is supposed to stay lit up after initilisation is complete.
Would this have anything to do with the DIP switches in the controller?

Hi, Thanks for the replies there lads.
I am new to this and i need to start with the basics.
The flight simulator is my next purchase. However, i need to make sure that my new purchase is working before i go any further.
there is a wire out from the bottom of the heli with the little red button and when you push it and let it off, a red led in a little box lites up and off? What is this for? Would it have anything to do with the problem.

Would this have anything to do with the DIP switches setup in the controller? Im not 100% sure tyhat they are still at the same setup as they were when it came out of the box. Is there anywhere that i can check the DIP settings against?

I don't know if your's is set up US or International. US is set up that the Throttle is on the left, and the throttle lever has got to be set all the way on the bottom of transmitter on start up.You must turn your transmitter on first, Then plug in the battery, and you may have a little red button to push till a light under the copter comes on. Then stand back about 3meters, and slowley power up. Adjust tail roter. You may need The ping pong ball safety landing gear, saves prop blades and bad take offs and landings. Stay out of wind! If you are just learning the Blazing Star by Exceed is great. Keeps the cost of parts way down... Builds confidence.

did you got it figure out already?, any way that was the button (red button) you need to press but first turn on the radio, make sure your throttle is all the way down and both switch in your remote (top v1/v2) are up position. about the gyro, the lite suppose to stay on after it initialize.

I don't know how far away you are from the city of industry you are, but x-heli and raidentec is there for help. Have you checked the switches on back of the transmitter, need to be set at the wright settings.1off2on3off4thru7on8off9on10thru12off.After you turn on transmitter plug in battery then push red button for about 3seconds, till red light stays on. your transmitter needs to dial in to the wright colors first.
I would like to say though, I have gone through a couple of other Heli's on my new learning curve. The simulator is OK, though the coiaxial heli's help alot. Very forgiving to newbe's. They teach you to fly from the back and front of your Heli. If you want to spend ALOT!!! On parts the first timer needs to invest on the beginner phase. Plus I got help from other RC Heli Pilots. Seek help, This is not an easy hobby.

I was under the impression, that you just moved to Cali. from Ireland, I don't know where Richmond is. The city of Industry is just out of Los Angles. Any way X-Heli and Raidentec have web sites and deal with Exceed Raptor G2. Hope you are able to figure out your problem. Personally I love flying my raptor.

Hey welcome to the addiction. I'm sure you followed all the directions...Turn on controller, plugged in the battery, then pushed the little RED button for a few seconds till the light under the heli stayed on. Are you new to heli's, if so you may want to start with a coaxial and a flight program. Saves the bucks on PARTS$$$. It is a real learning curve that can be frustrating.
Good Luck...

check all the switch at the back of the radio if setting are right:1 off; 2 on; 3 off; 4 on; 5 off; 6 on; 7 & 8 off; 9 on; 10-12 off, you turn on 10 - 12 when you adj the pitch (10), th-crv (11); gyro sens/ rudd mix (12). Better to use a pitch gauge to see the setting of your pitch or making adjustment.
