So lets see if I understand. You are not going to cut the cowl? Or you are, but just enought for muffler outlet, but going to cut out the exhaust outlet in the cannister tunnel? I was not real clear about that and was hopping you would snap a few pics of that.

Still need to cut holes in cowl for the mufflers so yes i will have a few holes in the cowl but not a gaping one for air outlet thats where the cannister holes come in i asked tom about this he said thats actually a better way becaus cowl strength is not compromised also panzlflyer is doing the same thing in his and says it works great and his engine is running very cool

So, those holes in the cowl can't really be enough, unless you have trimmed the exhaust tips right? The exhaust tips on my muffler won't allow the cowl to be put on.

Cut slots oval type for the mufflers and if you angle it right you can slide the cowl on, I just cut a little at a time until it goes on.
The other advantage is that with baffles and a few holes you dont have a bunch of air rushing over the carb causing issues.
You probable dont need the other slots but more exit the better imo

those are not the holes for my exhaust if you read my post i said i havent cut them yet i like the little slots they look COOOOOLLL lol but yeah air rushing over carb definitly a bad thing i ordered the carb plate from TBM just to be safe.... panzl: you said you can reach your choke thru the holes right i am not going to use a servo for choke have the smart fly kill switch also did you baffle the engine? could i see a pic of this if u did?

I dont have a pic of the baffles but can take one tommorow.
Just used balsa.
DA says its okay..I called them and yes you can reach the choke thats why the holes are a little larger than needs be.

probably could go without it, although in the middle its about and inch, just painted it lightly, gas is not like nitro.
