Hi what are all the letters on the different radio systems mean? Like PCM,MPX FM, etc. I now have a Evo 9, I just recived a XPS 2.4 system to install in the EVO. In the installation instructions it says to set the transmitter modulation to one of these(PPM,MPX,PPM18,PPM24). Here is where I'm confused. What one of the modulations is my EVO 9? and if I need to change it how is that done?.

Thanks for any advise you may provide.

I would suggest you talk to XPS... I don't know what PPM 18 & 24 are. The Evo 9 is set to default for PPM.

Mike.

Hi Thanks for the help. I think I am going to send the XPS system back. I have read here today where a guy has done some very critical testing on the XPS system. He has found that the XPS system unlike there adds describe will not "hop" to another channel if it encounters a bunch of "noise" He was unable to get XPS to do it no matter what he tried. And others have stated they have lost their plans due to failure of the XPS technology.
I my self have no idea hoiw it is supposed to work but now I'm very nervous about installing this in my EVO9 and a $7,000 plane if there is problems with XPS. I also read that this Jim Drew has had some other problems with other venturers he has been involved in.
I don't know if any of this is true but for now I would be very very nervous about installing the XPS system.

No system is proven to be perfect; I watched a hotliner using Spekrum go in at almost 200mph at the Arizona Electric Festival a couple weeks ago when it locked out. You need to take the negative posts with a grain of salt as most are made with one purpose in mind and that's to hurt the companies potential sales because they have a grudge against them for some reason. I guess this guy will be happy to know he did just that with you!

Hi Mike............You may be correct. I maybe just to much in the dark about how the different systems work . I do know that there are people on these sites that do nothing but bad mouth HiTec products for what ever reason. And these people most often don't even use the stuff they just heard it through rumor control. So maybe I will test the system out and see what happens. I will say this.I'm sure I have lost more planes to pilot error than to the hardware.

Anyhow thanks for your input and say hi to Steve Morton for me.

Steve
