It looks awesome! I'm just still a little concerned with the fact that mine's not on my building board yet? My mechanic has already declared he'll be taking over my old Yak so that will get a good home. Gimme gimme gimme! Bwhahaha

Got the OS 55AX and tank installed last night. All the radio is installed and I'm going to try out the Hitec HS77 servos all the way around. Good specs on the servos for anologs and they are relatively inexpensive. A slightly bigger case than standards but the servo openings were easily trimmed to fit the HS77s. Weight so far is 4 lbs 4 oz RTF dry. I'm using a Hitec Electron 6 rx and 1100 5 cell NiMH battery. Thursday up here in OH looks dry and clear although it will only be 30 degrees. Can't have perfect weather but I'll be shooting for the maiden tomorrow after work!

Everything is ready to go. Here are the latest pics complete with the silver trim covering, engine, and tank. That's my fat cat who weighs almost 4 times that of the plane! The new Yak is on the charger ready to go! Come on Mother Nature!

Hey Mike,

Looks great so far.....This is going to come out as a kit version I presume, and I will be in Toledo to pick one up for sure. My V3 540 is starting to show signs of wear and tear here and there and I need I backup bird. B.T.W. how about YAK Attack for a name.

See you in Toledo.

She Flys! Forrest and I braved the weather yesterday afternoon and maidened the new Yak. Temp was 28 degrees and winds were about 12 mph. So if the pics and video are a little blurry or shaking it is because the camera man was doing the same! All I can say is WOW, what a difference from the older Yak 54! Roll and yaw authority are much better and power to weight is fantastic with the 55 AX. We only did two flights. I did the first maiden flight and went through all the normal manuevers and she did great. Brought it in and checked the battery and it was low......must be the temps. We swapped batteries and topped off the fuel. I shot the video of Forrest flying the Yak; his first flight with it.

I'm making a few changes based on the prototype build and fly. Nothing super major. Still hoping to have kits readyto go by Toledo show.
