ok so you can do all of these mods to any current savage and save yourself some time and money all they did was add the extended chassis plates (to keep the truck from flipping over) and some beefier drive cups which are also already on the market and a little bigger motor ... just go get an lrp 28 spec 3or 4 theve got more power than hpi can ever imagine and there a direct bolt in and the tires take your pick from prolien racing ... its just that easy

Nice work Pat... IMO the new Savage is a dissapointment.. The tire compound and engine look interesting, however the new body/chassis look like @$$

LOOKS!!! are you guys so hooked up on 'looks' that you over look performance. I think the extended chassis is gonna give much better handling and performance. some of the comments i see about 'looks' make me think you guys are wearing skirts. who cares what something 'looks' like as long as it's bad ass and performs better. Just my bold 2 cents.

Wow, looks great. Bit bigger, but it will pack some power from the K5.9. Nice.

Yea I agree with those who dont like it...not a lot of thought went into it...hey lets extend the Savage...duhhh.... ...IMO those wheels suck, and the tires arent much better...looks like something from a reject 80's monster truck... ...and the body...def not their best work...
It just seems a bit of a stop gap truck to keep sales up before they bring out something totally redesigned but still retaining the "Savageness" of old...
I mean a new generation "XL Savage" would be cool...it will have wider arms and an extended chassis that doesnt looked like the old truck just hacked around a bit...

I guess the downside of a re-design is more parts become non backward compatable

I am interested to see how the engine goes tho...

Oh yea...good work Patrick...

I dont mind that they extended the savage, but what they should have done was widen it also. Redesign everything so the tvps sit .25 inch farther apart. move that stupid tank so it sits infront of the 3 speed, bigger shocks and update the drivetrain a bit. The engine looks good, but its just a waste of fuel IMO.

Guess im just a sucker for monster trucks. I like it. I love those giant race tread tires too. The body isnt soo great, but i can fix that with some paint. lol. I'll wait for the SS version though.

Azzman pretty much summed up my thoughts... Any why would I need an XL POS? When I have one with $200 in mods that will far outstrip it?? You are the one wearing the skirt This fools at HPI dont have the sense to do a FRONT extension and mid-tank the damn thing already
