You're right go-to. This savage doesnt have much appeal to people that already own one. It would only be a few quick upgrades to get to XL status. However, these companies are always trying to get NEW customers, and people that dont already have one. So to make the truck more appealing, they add to it.

I agree. By the way, there is a lot of space at the rear of the engine. I wish they'd made a rear-exhaust type, or perhaps mid-tank style.

LMAO Hill!!!! How the hell is extending it going to stop it from flipping?? (Other than wheelies and jumping) This is an MT, by making it larger they didnt help, they just increased the proporsions and it still has the SAME width so it will still have the same handling problems.... Also, if you cant tell a nice truck apart from one that looks like poo, then I feel bad for you. Hopefully you wont make that mistake when looking at women Tom.

Yeah, I am speechless (that’s not a good thing) I don’t like it. It's just a bunch of after market parts by hpi. I was waiting for them to put the snap back in the savage, oh well (wait the savage does not need any help, it was cool is cool). I do like the tires, maybe the diffs, and any hidden up grades. I like the big bore shocks more. dislikes: tvp, rims, engine, and it does not have the BB shocks!!!

I would like to hear more about those Italian engines

Looks good. I really dig the new tires/wheels. The engine size is a bit odd, but hey, bigger is better in these trucks so I'm not complaining at all. Hopefully HPI put a real fuel tank on this version.

I just looked at the radio access, any1 see the new throttle servo guard? I guess its just supposed to be a splash guard, but then again you need to remove the box to remove/adjust the servo horn Looks like they implemented a new skinny steel spur, the fiber brakes are there, 3 speed, polished pipe... I have to say, if HPI does not install the high speed 3rd gear (which they probably didnt) then they are nitwits Well then again, bad for the consumer, and more money for them since they can have the wide ration 3rd gear purchases separately.. Like some1 pointed out, it looks like the 2008 version of the Hot Bodies Truckzilla conversion in a more "race" style... a 4 big bore shock setup would have been excellent, if only they could have had that, but I guess its too much to ask

The extra length in the rear is EXACTLY what the savage needs, I have driven a buddys FLM extended savage and it is WAY better in terms of handling than the stocker., it turns 100 % better, both off power and on power, jumps better, doesnt wheely after every bump and is all around a better truck....... in fact it is almost raceable LOL.......I said ALMOST. I would give up my 2 near-stock-non-driving-X-4.6-RTR's in a millisecond for that truck...They arent my race vehicles by the way. They are my 10 y/o sons and my bashers/male bonding tools..........

+1 to that. some one that actually knows the difference and has experienced it. I dont see why there is so much complaining. they put out the best platform so far for a savage.

Maybe they should of made a Airwolf looking helicopter, put big ass monster truck tires on it that just look mean, LST2 shocks and marketed it as:

HPI Savage Triple XXX--Flies around the competition, literally

seriously, what were you guys expecting that are complaining? jeez, I wish my MGT even had a 3 speed option.

I would like to see a race worthy MT from hpi Heck a race worthy anything from hpi would be nice. I know they are trying to appeal to newer people. I know 3 hobby shops in my area that dont carry anything hpi because they just dont sell. That leaves one shop who carries 1 savage and some spare parts. Making them longer isnt going to make them more appealing to the general public. Make a new truck already hpi.
