The right plastics (RPM) can be very durable and cheap to replace. In cold weather plastic becomes very brittle. Aluminum is stronger and looks sweet. In high HP applications aluminum parts in the right places are a must. Aluminum can add weight and riggidity to balance a vehicle out. Shock tower, engine moutns, structual bracing will make your rig stronger and more stable at speed.

rpm makes great plastics, too bad they dont make them for redcat YET, i will take plastic over aluminum any day, if you go to any "real" rc race, you wont see any aluminum and there is a reason for it.

Racing ain't bashing bro. You should know that. Many people do speed runs only as well. The weight keeps the front planted and more stable at high speed. Only open minded people progress forward.

Aluminum is your friend. Expensive but so worth it. This is for the Earthquake.

Not sure what them ones are going to be yet for price. (There for my Revo)
Any rim design and size i can build.
I can also make any aluminum hopup in Delrin. Delrin is just like plastic but super super strong! and a dream to machine!
I have most Redcat rims covered already

Wouldnt spur gears be better to be made in metal?

not really, then the shock would be passed to the differentials, its alot easier to change a spur gear then the diff gears. A harder plastic should hold up pretty good no?

off hand i would say no.......... but id have to check and see what the cost of materal is.
Machining times would be alot faster.

Even making A-arms and such out it would be simple.

Ill find the spec sheets on delrin and post.

Havent seen RPM products in my hand..........but if everyone is saying its strong and so on.........its more than likley Delrin.

Stuff is strong and has good flex to it.
