Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with this business, I just bought an engine and am pleased with the product and price.

In another thread somewhere we were discussing a Russian MAC FIRE 10cc. I found out a biz has them for sale at a bargain price of $39.99!

http://www.hobbyclub.com/product_info.php?cPath=44_75&products_id=291

They come with a lot of spare parts included! What a bargain! They are packed in cosmolene and so will need to be disassembled partially and flushed with solvent. There are numbers on the mounting lug, not sure but may indicate date of manufacture. If so, then these engines I have were made in 1992.

I would grab one while you still have the chance. At this price, it is almost a give-a-way. You get two glow plugs with it, plus many spare gaskets and o-rings.

MAC FIRE 10cc.

The word MAC are wrong wrote, this name is MDS , see at the name at the crank case in last photo: МДС (latin letter: MDS)

Same wrong word in their website Hobby Club, there are wrote MAC and Ustkam, it will be MDS and Tstkam (МДС and Цcткам)
I has Tstkam 2.5 cc with tuned pipe for U/C speed plane..

It is much for money, really cheap for a new engine with all spare parts...

Edited some wrong in text..

That's cool. Will a Rossi header (O-ring header) fit it?

I picked one up also, I have no idea what I'm going to use it for, but had to have one. looks fast standing still.

What kind of pipe do you intend to use with it?

I'm thinking a scratch built speed design.

Hi!
Bargain??
It's an old MDS engine...before MDS made fairly good engines!
Just made for the scrapheap I'm afraid.
Have had several of those 15 years ago. No good! Sorry.

I checked out their web site and it seems as also the MVVS engines are from past times, they look nothing like todays MVVS engines.

I know people have given MDS a bad rep but I think it may be due to trying to run them on too high a nitro percent? Hell, for $40 bucks it makes a nice paperweight if nothing else.

For myself anyway, I never met an engine I could not make run right.

Anyway, I don't know what to do about the tuned pipe. Perhaps a MAC unit can be adapted.

jaka: Have a look at this "MDS"

It looks like either a MAC's or Rossi pipe would work. Might have to change the header adapter to an exteranl o-ring type.

How strange -- I went to the website referenced in the first post and saw the engine for what was (I'm sure) $39.95 and put one in my shopping cart. After being distracted by a phone call I went back to the computer and saw my cart had emptied itself (timed out I suspect) so went back to the product page and now it says $49.95.

What gives there eh?

I'd take a punt at $39.95 and probably buy another $100 or so worth of stuff to make the order worthwhile but I feel like I'm being ripped off when the price suddenly jumps by $10 in a matter of minutes.

I hope they don't sell another one for doing that. That's tacky.
