ORIGINAL: Ed Cregger How can you not need a rise in the header? Otherwise, the fuel tank must be unacceptably lower. Addendum: Unless you are running the engine sidewinder with the cylinder sticking out the opposite side of normal. That buys you effective right thrust the easy way. Ed Cregger Ed, Yes the tank will be lower than the usual tank centerline/carb inlet level. Unacceptably lower? I don't know as I've not run it yet. However on this plane the tank and engine are in the same relationship as before and my this plane has had two other engines on and it's never been an issue. The engine is mounted traditionally and I did modify the top of the fuse to clear the pipe. I'm betting xjet's trainer he mounted this engine on wasn't optimum either in respect to tank level and as the video shows it seemed to run fine. Time will tell. I'm getting closer. Mike ------------- Whenever someone says "tuned pipe", my mind automatically drops into the pattern mode, which demands even fuel feed in every position. I sometimes forget that some folks don't really care if the engine goes slightly rich when inverted. Ed Cregger
