Someone at my field has a wild hare 50cc edge 540 and it flew awsome. seems strong too, he did a HARD touch n go and nothing happened, not even bent or broken landing gear.

The only 50cc plane that Hanger 9 makes -- AND you can fly in IMAC at levels above Basic-- is the 27% Cap 232.

They make larger planes for IMAC type flying, but they are not for 50cc engines. More like 80cc or 100cc

They make other planes that can be flown with 50cc engines, but they are not IMAC type planes. You could put a 50cc engine on the Cessna or the Sundowner, but you wouldn't want to fly either of them in an IMAC competition.

They make exactly ONE 50cc scale aerobatic plane that you'd want to use in IMAC competition. The 27% Cap 232.

There are lots of other options out there. Wild Hare, BME, World Models, Airwild, Aeroworks, Chief Aircraft, the list is endless..............
If you're new to IMAC, pick one and fly it 4 days per week. Burn fuel. The plane, at this point, makes about 5% difference. Later on, if you get really good, go buy the one that you think is the absolute best. Thats subjective. What you think is the best will be the one that somebody else thinks is the biggest hunk of junk on the planet. Doesn't matter. They all fly. Just pick one and fly it.

Hi there, I flew the Wild Hare Edge 540 28%, it's the plane I learned to fly on. In my opinion, wildhares are the easiest to fix, which is great if you put in a lot of flying, something's bound to happen. It's certainly a good first IMAC plane, great for Basic at least. Based on what I saw other people fly, I would recommend to have a look at the aeroworks extra 260 50cc. I have the same plane in 35% size, about 1500 flights on it of IMAC practice and it still looks new, it's truly amazing! Extremely good quality. But not so easy to fix, for example where the landing gear attaches to the fuse, it is really a jugsaw puzzle of crossbraces and pieces. It's I have a friend who has the 50cc size, it looks just as well built. A bit more pricey I think but it flies cleaner. It would probably be my choice if I was buying a 50cc as my main IMAC plane. My 2 cents

The EF Extra 300 tracks very well.. I am really impressed with it.

The other plane that flies well in this class is the Aeroworks 260.

The WH Edge is a great plane but I wouldn't be using it for IMAC.. it does way better at 3D.

Having onwned both WH and QQ aircraft, I would pick the QQ Yak over anything WH has to offer in the 50cc range. The Yak will do it all. QQ's quality and finish are much better too.

What about the new Hangar 9/Carden. That one might be a sweet plane.
