MikeMayberry -> RE: Hitec HS5645 Servo Centering Problem (2/11/2008 6:22:19 PM)

The thread on FG was over 20 months old and then got some more recent posts but there is no indication on any "serious issues" as you indicate. If there were you would see much more chatter about it than this, especially considering there are tens of thousands of these servos that are in use. The 5645MG's are the most popular digital servos on the market and offers tremedous bang for the buck. They do however use a 3 pole motor, not coreless, which is why they cost less than the premium servos. It is true that the 3 pole motor servos do not center as well, but the digital cicuit does help this and in most cases you could not tell. However, if setting up the model for 3D throws with 1 .5" arms you may see slight centering discepencies vs. the coreless digital servos like the 5985MG and 5955TG. This is where it becomes important to use all the travel in your radio by maxing out the D/R and EPA to get the desired travel. Be aware that the longer the servo horn the more sensitive the control surface is to small movements of the servo. So are you seeing a problem or are you just worried because of what you have read? Mike.
