I know I like them, but this is amazing. Check out this closed sale! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=170191240889&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=007

Well, considering what you are buying.... That price is good. What is even more crazy is see what a NIB Hanno goes for with out a pipe and header. Heck even a used one for that fact.....

FYI..I don't have the invoice anymore so I'm going off memory...But I *think* I paid about $275 for a YS 61R engine in the late 80's or early 90's...Then about $125 for a Hatori 650 pipe and then another $45 for a Hatori header...

They were expensive engines...

The real engine you guys want for 80's pattern planes is the YS60 short stroke and a Hatori 601 pipe for higher rpm and a 650 pipe for lower rpm. The long stoke can pull just a little more prop but overall can be a pain from the throttle transition stand point. We would have to switch throttle barrels many times to get the midrange right. There has neve been a better 60 engine made than the YS60 SS. Bearings in the 60 will not corrode near as fast as the 61 either.

I ran one of those YS60 SS and it was an awesome motor. I then switched to a Hanno. The Hanno had more power and pulled bigger lumber but there is something about that sound that the YS had. I remember the Hanno's being around $400.00 new. I just came across a new in the box Hanno with header and the O.S. pipe for $450.00. I snatched it up with minimal buyers remorse. I'll feel better once I have run it for a while.

Trust me...The buyers remorse will fade very very quickly...Although you **IMHO** shouldn't be suffering...If that is the engine I'm thinking of..it is Schweet!! (The guy had it advertised in the RC Groups forums??) I almost bought it a week or so ago...But I have enough and couldn't justify it...

I just got finished running one of my YS Long Strokes (moments ago)....It was my very first eBay purchase mid last year...A used engine that was in sorta rough shape...I went through it with bearings, gaskets, o-rings and diaphragm...Boy..I tell you these things are soooo much fun..

Enjoy the Hanno!!

Chuck
