Yeah, changing to 2 holes will give you more dampening for sure... !!

Yeah, you're right. Rats. I hate mucking with those teeny tiny e-clips.

Oh, it's doable. I built them, and they're not the first set I've done (Pede shocks, TA05, these). But you have to admit, those little e-clips are always a pain. They fly off the pliers, get lost easily, etc. Sometimes it goes smoothly for me, other times not so much.

I'm not saying it's ridiculous or anything, it's just not my favorite RC thing to work on.

Heh, I have e-clip spares too (I learned my lesson on those long ago). Still hate 'em though.

The stock Tamiya oil is probably 30-35 wt equivalent.. I'd say try something heavier...

I think the DF-03 comes w/ the 80-90 wt equivalent.. (if I remember it correctly..)

Of course, you can always re-build the shocks w/ pistons w/ less holes..

Ah, ok. I have no such heavy oil right now. I can hit the LHS for some, or play with the stiffer springs. I know oil weight and spring stiffness kind of affect it in different ways, but I can play with springs for free, so why not?

I think I have 3 hole pisons in there, can swap in 2-hole I guess. (Chaning the oil is easier though - LOL - just cost $).

Ok, before you go flinging E clips try changing the stock shock oil to 35wt front and rear. I use stock springs on mine and they are perfect. Remember when you are landing from a jump(with foreword momentum) it is different from droping your car straight down. Also, a little chassis slap is not always a bad thing.

Yup, heavier oil, heavier springs will just make it bounce all over the place as well as having to thick oil.

The oil is yellow in the DT02MS, 40wt(#400).

I swapped in the 2 hole pistons, seems a bit better. I kept with the Tamiya yellow oil since it's 40 wt. I'll see how it goes next bashing session....

Thanks for the advice, all.

Hey! It looks great!! As you can see from the picture they run pretty good too! I took 3rd place at the Michigan "East / West" Shoot out yesterday.

Hey acevtwin, is that the fasttracks raceway in Highland? How is it down there? Is your DT-02ms stock?(other than tires) Wondering how competetive it is out of the box. I was going to start with the stock 27t racing as I've only raced onroad before.

It's called "Factory Tracks". But yes, thats the one. The DT-02 MS has a lot of bump steer. And there is no parts support in the area. If you want to race it you'll have to be prepared to stock ALL the parts you may need yourself. For stock buggy class (27t) you may be better off with a B4. I run a B4 in stock class and the DT-02 MS in mod.

Just ran the DT-02 MS for the first time. Super fun and plenty fast. Next up.. jumps for the driveway.
