What pitch is that spur/pinion? Looks like a lower one (what...48? I don't know them all).

Sometimes I wish all RC used the same pitch, so I wouldn't keep having to buy different types of pinions (had to w/the TA05).

Right, makes sense. The gears on that pinion look huge! LOL

I think this might be record time, but it was not a hard kit to assemble. Tamiya did a nice job making a simple buggy into something worth while.

Nice build, TEX!
Are you planning on putting the Hop Up DT-02 sway-bar kit on this one?
I bought it for my Blitzer Beetle, comes with two different sway-bars each for front and rear.
Will be tough to fit on the Blitzer, though.

I doubt it, off-road vehicles need soft suspension and as much travel as possible. Installing sway bars makes the suspension more rigid.

There are a lot of hop ups for the DT02, I already have most of them I think. I was on RCMart last night.

For maximum "traction", you don't want to run sway bar... but when you are turning, there's the weight transfer and sway bar can reduce that and actually give you more effective traction for turning.. so you will probably still find race buggy w/ them... it is also another way to adjust the balance of your car.. (like if you want more understeer for better control or more oversteer so you can turn quicker, etc.)

I am sure it comes down to the personal preference...

Got pics of the DT-02 sway bar kit, Dante??
