Anyone here have a Lego Mindstorm, is this hobby as good as these RC Planes and cars?

eh, i don't own one, but work with a lego group that uses one, they are nice, but they aren't as fun IMO as planes and cars, they are a TON of work to get working properly... I would look more into a (discontiuned at Radio Shack) VEX lab systems things, they are RC so they are MUCH more fun, OR, just hack an existing car

Yeah vex is much better, plus it can be combined with other erector sets so you have a ton of different pieces avaliable.

i hate NXT robots, i have to take a lego robotics class and thats what we use, its incredibly hard, and our teaccher expects a lot from us. If you do it on your own time, it might be fun, i guess

So Lego Mind storms provides a challenge? I am buying a Robonova myself and will be attending the Robo Games 2008 next month.
