With a setup like that, you have the opportunity to create custom gear ratios as you combine the output of the 3 cylinders to one prop shaft. You could probably turn a 32" 5 blade at 3800 to 5800 rpm depending on which gearset you choose! Perfect for that 1/4 scale SeaFury project. [;)]

I wonder if RCV ever considered designing the cooling fins to run lengthwise - or at an angle - more in line with the airflow over the engine.

It's been discussed before, Leehop. You'll have to search thru the theads in this forum to find the discussion. Result was, the machining requires the fins to be the way they are and RCV didn't believe changing the orientation would signifcantly change the cooling rate. It's just important in a cowled installation to make sure and add an air scoop inside the cowl to "drive" the airflow up over and the engine fins, as per their instruction booklet.
