thanks ...we will try I like the twin outdrive .that boat belongs to a rcu member

The twin drive scarab project is mine. I've been working (I use that term VERY loosely) on finishing it. It's getting closer to done....working on driveline and electronics now. The brass rod between the outdrives in a couple pics was a temporary spacer. Each outdrive has a dedicated servo with two links going to each side of the outdrive.

I like the e-start. I sure could use it on my race boats. The earlier pics of the Budlight and the outboards in the pink foam are mine.My wife thinks I'm crazy for collecting them but right now there going up faster than my 401k. I do have a copy of the amps promotional video they used to sell them.I would like an original one so if anybody has one let me know.

Ok, here's the pictures, It just looks like the motor needs to be attached with a spacer or the bottom of the boat needs to be trimmed, I purchased this boat from someone that mounted a K&B to it with an adjustable mounting plate. There is a hole in the transom where at one time a previous owner mounted or tried to mount the adj. trim bracket. Any suggestions guys?

Thanks, I picked that one up 3 weeks ago off eBay, I just fixed that broken-off set screw last night, and believe it or not, the SS center shaft is actually an old chrome plated steel shock shaft. Ha!
I'll just replace it with an 1/8" rod after fitting everything to the hull. Just goes to show-- you really gotta LOOK closely at pictures.
Thanks for all your help, it's really great having a forum like this to provide information on an almost lost product.

Yeah all I've gotten is flak for trying to "think outside the box" I figured if I was going for a scale twin drive setup....the least I could try for was a scalish sound also. Since there aren't any readily available water cooled 4-strokers (the size I wanted) I decided to try twin YS 63S's I'll try and watercool them myself (that's the point I'm kinda at now) Also trying to figure out a good starting point for a prop (size and pitch) I can obviously swing a larger dia. prop with the 4-stroke to make up for the lower rpms.....but at the same time don't want to over torque the AMPS drives. Any suggestions?? I'll ask in this AMPS thread.....since I don't get many good responses or interest anywhere else I ask (not on RCU) Thanks

don't let them give you flak for trying .the only one i have seen was a YS 63S with a home made shell for water cooling the guy had a electric water pump to give it better water flow at lower speed .. don't go to large on the prop ..are your outdrives counter rotating???? i would go for a nice 5 blade great scale look
