Ok I need a little help. This is my 1st V tail airplane and need to help setting up the control direction. I am using my JR 9303 so I have V-tail mixing on my radio. This is was I know.

I know the direction of the throttle, and ailerons should move. I know when up push down on the elevator both ruddervators should got up and opposite if you push in the other direction.

Here my question: Should the ruddervators do anything if you give rudder input. and 2nd does the rudder do anything if you give aileron input.

Yes, the ruddervators should be set to work and no there is no need for mixing of rudder and aileron. Having said this you may want to try some mix at some point in testing, but I don't think it is used much.

Don't use any mixing, period. If you are giving the airplane that much rudder while you're racing, something else is wrong.

Do you have your V-tail mixing active?? make sure you have it activated so the pre-programed factory mixing is working.

Rudder direction: Stand behind the airplane... give it "right" rudder... look at ONE elevator, I don't care which one... that half of the V-tail you are looking at should move to the "right".. Example: if you are looking at the left V-tail from the rear, it should come UP.... if you are looking at the right V-tail from the rear, it should go down..

Does that make sense?

Randy is correct of course.

This might be a little easier. Again, standing at the back of the airplane rotate the airplane until the one half of the tail is pointing vertically upwards. Apply rudder movement and the control surface should move exactly the same as the rudder on a conventional tail. The same applies to the other side.

The way I learned was that the tail surfaces should move opposite of the ailerons.. Right roll, right aileron up vs. right rudder, right ruddevator down..

Hi!
When vieved from the rear.
You want the ...

Plane turning right (with side rudder)------left side rudder up and right down.

Plane turning left (with side rudder)-----left side rudder down and right side rudder up.
