There is a video on AQ now but with the way they edited it you can't get a true sense of speeds......

I'll lay ya money speeds are absolutely similar to the reef racer. I'll bet they are even the same motor. Yep. Same motor. So could be a touch faster being surface drive.

You are exactly correct headhunter; same motor as RR2 with slightly more speed with surface drive and mini flex cable. We have had the Mini Rio on some rough water for this little vee and it loves it

Thanks,
Russ

Russ, I'm glad you stop by once and a while to tell us about your new products. I'm sure you dont have to worry much about non-first time boaters going for the new Blast instead. The Rio is actually an advancement of your tech abilities, unlike some other companies.

I am not a novice and might get this boat for a small pond. I may sell off my larger boat and scale down cheaper for parts in smaller scale. With the work situation I am going through and the economy this may be a better alternative to the larger boats and still have fun. I would love to see a small cat. I hope one is in the works. I like the AQ products. They seem to be well put together. I can't wait until someone gets there hands on one and gives us a good review and suggestions for hop -ups etc.
Thanks Russ, Rick

The video is up. http://www.aquacraftmodels.com/boats/aqub15-main.html

Wow! Lots of improvements over the Reef Racer and it looks like a real boat instead of a spaceship!

Ok, probably still the same video.

Nice that it has the peak charger instead of the one with the spring-wound timer.

Just called the HS and told them I'd be right over ;-)

Just returned home from Franciscan Hobbies with mine (they got them in last week and mine was the first one out the door)! Wow! You have to hold this little beauty in your hand to really appreciate it!

Looking it over, the only complaint I have is that if they had routed the water cooling the opposite of the way they did it, the tube would run right over or under the esc/radio and you could water cool the
