There are several P-51's so we need to know exactly which one you are working with.

Forget the instructions. You should have some prior experience putting together ARFs before tackling one of these planes, to the point that you practically do not need the instructions at all.

If you are not at this level, you may want to get help from a more experienced person as there will be many items that will be confusing to you.

Use CA on CA hinges. Build the plane like you would any ARF.

The C.G. is sometimes off in the manuals as some of the manuals are for different sized planes, and when they are re-copied the wrong pages get inserted. You should try to find a thread dealing with your particular model in these forums to read about the C.G. which pilots are using.

You could always start out with a 25%-30% setting and work from there, as this should be safe, but when in doubt, use an on-line C.G. calculator.
