I need to know who makes this giles 202 and if you have one I would love some pictures of your setup. This will be my first gasser with a 23CC WeedWacker engine onboard.

Great Planes used to offer a Giles G 202 ARF sometime ago, I had two of them running a 30cc gas conversion engine, both of them suffered from inferior construction and snapped apart while in flight.

I think Great Planes is correct.

What ever you do, don't make it heavy or balance it too far forward! That was an issue with just about every one of these planes that flew and the owners crashed them in short order, with a large number on landing and the rest at the top of a loop. It's also how the Giles obtained the moniker of being "snappy". You'd be money in the bank using a glow 90 or 1.05 instead of a gasser due to the weight. Do the math for the wing planform and balance it at 28% instead of using the location in the instructions. The instructions were wrong, contributing to the lament of the owners.

The Giles IS NOT a snappy plane when set up properly, it's one of th easiest planes to fly outside of an Edge. I have two, a 35% and a 40% and would not let either one of them get away unless the offer was really good.

Forgive me for being dumb , but I am not sure on how to do the "math" on this as far as doing it 28% Also they warehouse I bought it from said it was made by CY Models but after researching there website nothing turned up. I think I found it at Midwest but im not sure.

It may have been a Midwest arf, though I don't believe so. The math is the process of squaring up the wing to find the MAC and computing a CG location. A Giles and an Edge make that pretty easy since they only have "sweep" on the leading or trailing edge.

I think the GP 202 was a 55 or 58incher

It is not a Great Planes G202 as the GP G202 had curved landing gear struts (not very scale like). It is not the Midwest plane as it was never sold as an ARF. Both planes flew pretty well as long as the flyer is very careful about not using too much elevator when the plane is slowed down. They both do beautiful axial rolls but they are a little too heavy for the wing size to be much good for 3D.
I am sure I have seen the plane in your picture but do not recall the manufacturer, maybe Model-Tech. It's been several years back.
For what it's worth, the manual for the GP G202 calls for the CG to be 9 1/4 inches forward of the trailing edge of the wing.

As I mentioned earlier I had two of the Great Planes G202 ARF's and if I was to do one again (when hell freezes over) I would not make it a gasser. I would use either a Saito 180 (or perhaps the new 220) or a OS 160 FX. These engines are much lighter and keep the overall weight of the plane down. A gasser regardless of a size will do two things, it will weigh more increasing the wing loading and it will vibrate more causing issues with the overall structure of the plane. It was a pretty good flying plane, even though it was heavy with a gasser, there is a fellow at my field flying one right now with a OS 160 FX in it and it is a really good combination, although it is some what easy to tip stall, my understanding is this particular model, not necessarily the Giles, is easy to tip stall anyways.

I guess a definitive statement about who handles the plane has been made. I know when to admit I'm wrong, and this is the perfect time to do so. Good job on the find.

I browsed too ,and found nothing.Definately good find, perfect match.
Looks like they carry some of the planes that NitroPlanes and CMPRo handle also.
Never seen this Giles before. It appears that the outlines are fairly scalish.Good price too.
I would reconsider that 26 weeder. It may just fly around and have no reserve for aerobatics or pulling out of trouble.
As mentioned,a glow in the 120-180 range is the best bet.
A converted 26 is best in a Cub or Taylorcraft ,etc, something that is not dependant on a lot of thrust and can manage to get around on scalish power.
Not knocking your engine choice,it may work just fine in the appropiate airframe.

Nitro wing: I bought a Giles 202 about like you have. I am about ready to put her together, but I got to pick out a engine. I have a Echo 23cc that needs finishi
