The TS-4N that I just got yesterday came with a 2-speed as standard equipment, but I see it's listed as an 'optional' part in the manual. Just looking at the 'close ratio' optional 2-speed in the hop-ups list, it looks like you need the spur gears and hubs, the clutch bell and pinions, 2 shafts, the clutch hub thing and various screws/washers. Might be cheaper to just buy the complete optional one. The part number listed in my manual for it is 'PD7675 2-speed, close ratio trans'.

I've found a load of TT parts at www.thundertiger4u.com

I'd say so, if only for the wow factor of hearing it shift gears. It'll boost the acceleration a fair bit as well.

If you set it correctly, it will allow you to have a lot more punch out of the corners and a better top speed on the straights. Because the shift point is adjustable, you can 'tune' it to your specific track, so you don't get it changing up half way through a corner etc.

Those are the only websites I've seen so far, but I must admit I didn't do a lot of looking after I found that US based one.

As your clutch shoes wear, it will need higher and higher revs to get the car moving. If you break a shoe or something else in the clutch, chances are it will lock against the bell and then it won't free-wheel like it should when the engine is idling or stopped.

What fuel are you running? Anything below 16% nitro i'd reccomend OS LC3s, above 16% then an OS 8 would probably run better.

Trouble getting the engine to start is usually down to tuning, although a damaged plug wouldn't help.
