Status: offline 		Here is a solution to cold temperature problems with the FlyCamOne2. Use the Rx batteries (glow-gas power) or power from your ESC-BEC (electric power) to power the FlyCamOne2. A simple tap made from two servo extensions will bring power to the FlyCamOne2 base. See the wiring diagram and photos. Pay close attention the the polarity reversal mentioned in the attached wiring diagram. Unplug the tap from the camera when not in use to avoid possible electrical leakage to the Rx circuit.

I've had 15 minute in flight videos at temperatures of -2C (28F)

Status: offline 		Great Idea! Quick question though. In your wiring diagram why is the harness you made going to the throttle channel? Can't you just tap into the battery lead going to your switch?

Status: offline 		Yes, TruBlu02 that would be correct for a glow/gas powered aircraft. Thank you for catching this.

The wiring set-up I initially described was for an electric powered system where the power connection from the BEC must also carry the throttle signal from the Rx back to the ESC.

I am uploading a revised instruction diagram to the original post

I don't know much more about the mounting base and it's connective functions beyond the information in the manual. In addition to power for the camera, it provides a channel for the recording on-off function. According to the manual, connecting pins 1 and 3 will activate recording or take a single still picture. Breaking the connection will stop the recording. I assume one would do this with an aux channel. There is a firmware update (issued January 20, 2008) that should be installed if you want to use the remote activation features. See the FlyCamOne2 web site for more information about that.

Status: offline 		Thanks Barry. I really think the Flycam could come with a better manual but I am definately going to download the update. I have been wanting a way to remotely activate the camera and I have a spare retract channel that needs a purpose in life! I made my first video yesterday with my Reactor and I will post it up later in this forum.
