ok, im pretty sure that a skyline would not be THAT loud, my brother in law has a 68' Pontiac firebird, that he is going to hand down to me. It has TRUE dual exhaust( yes, TWO catolitic converters), he has a 400 big block(V8), and he got it rebuilt with performance parts for about 5,000 dollars. that thing is loud, my friend was walking by his car talkin with someone else, and when my brother in law turned his firebird over.. my friend got fricken scared half to death, lol it was so funny. im not sure how much horse power it has, but i can tell you it is alot. while street racing a new mustang v 8that was totally suped up, he burned out for about 5 sec, then he SMOKED the mustang only using about half throttle.

ok here is the site: http://www.rbinnovations.com/ then click on RB nitro supercharger on the left, its kinda of the high end of the price end, and it might add a little weight.

while it is not common, it is possible to supercharge, turbo charge and run nitrous.I have actually seen this. The supercharger is belt driven and feeds the intake. The turbo is exhaust driven, so they can be used together, the super charger actually cures the boost lag created by the turbo. Also the nitrous in this situation was used as coolent to cool the intake charge. This would be very expensive take lots of room and be a nitemare to tune.

nice humm i made strbe lights for my car i took them out of 2 2 by 2 box that had little strobes in them so i took out the light i costimized the acelerator and the brake on the servo i made it so that when you brake you connect 2 of wires one - one + on the batterie extension cables i made so it worked now i need to find how too mount on body im thinking about making extra hole under the sticked fog lights.

Hey georgekelp, Why the hell does your bro in law have Cadillac converters on a 68 firebird????????? They didn't start making exhaust laws till the 70's. As far as "smoking" a beefed up mustang after burning out for 5 seconds and then only using half throttle, keep dreaming. Better break out the pixie dust to do something like that that on a 5000 dollar motor. Lets try to keep it believable...Jon

i always try to stay away from these threads cause a lot of people talk trash and have nothign to back the bable they spew.

first off .....your 1968 firebird has cats? huh why would you put cats on a car that doesnt require emissions? did you mean 2x mufflers?

hp limit in california is what ever you can cram in there and pass emissions. there is no law against 1,000 hp as long as you dont pollute.

and as far as this gtr car beating all classes

This "riceburning sushiwagon" is the fastest full-production car in the world. Yes. It is.

Does it have the highest top speed? No.
Does it have the fastest 1/4 mile? Not hardly (they typically run a high 12-low 13 second 1/4 mile stock).
Maybe its the highest hp then (to answer Todd). Not even (about 350hp stock)

But somehow, when the world's best auto manufacturers got together and decided to race their "production class" cars, the Skyline GT-R won. In fact it won 33 times in a row. It set the course record at NurburgRing. It won every race it was entered in until they finally kicked it out of the class because "it shares too many qualities with a race car." It seems Porsche, Ferrari, BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, and the rest didn't like having their finest full-production offerings embarassed by a "riceburning sushiwagon"

You see, the Skyline is SMART. It tracks accelerational and decelerational G forces, lateral G forces, yaw rate, throttle position, steering angle, engine output, and wheelspin and through the use of an electro-hydraulic all-wheel drive, it puts the power wherever it needs it most to keep the car fast through the corners. Blisteringly fast. There's just something cool about a car that can shift from 2-wheel drive to 4-wheel drive, and just about any point in between all by itself, depending on what the car is doing, and what it needs to stay firmly stuck to the track.

Its all a matter of staying fast through the turns. Thats all there is to it.
[/QUOTE]

you say it is the fastest full-production car but then you say it isnt the fastest 1/4 mile and it isnt the fastest top speed?
then what is it? fastest car to be picked by someone who likes the movie the fast and the furious?

then you say it was raced in "their production class" and porshe, ferrari and jaguar are in that class?
what class is this?
whats full production?

the point here is dollar for dollar

same as rc
you can buy an hpi rs4 and dump major money in it , it will be the fastest nitro car around.

take this gtr skyline thing. its what $80k? doing 12-13 sec 1/4?
my firebird does 12-13 seconds.

then you spend much more to be extremely fast?

what do you think would happen if i spent the same amount of money in an american made muscle car? vette, viper, t/a ?

point is yes that a fast car
but why spend $100,000 to do that speed when you can get it for less?

I will race your firebird any day of the week on a road course, with my stock VW golf. I race with SCCA, and import drags just for fun. Well I can tell you that I have never been beat by a firebird camaro etc on the road course. That is what the skyline is made for. It is all wheel drive, and handles like a dream, drifting etc is what a skyline is good at. doesn't matter how fast it goes in a straight line if it can't handle, same with RC vehicles. Why are all the touring cars 4 wheel drive, you can drive them if they are 2 wheel drive.

The question how fast a vehicle is, not that is a hard question to answer when asked, there are so many variables, with no real answer, I can do 1XX top end, doesn't mean anything if it takes a week to get to that speed, or I can do a 12.XX quarter but then is your car only good at going straight. well it can acheive the g/s on a skid pad. It sounds as thought that was a group of engineers that tested all around aspects of a vehicle and others to find the best the was truly race bred. Yea I don't believe it beat a ferrari, or porshe but depending on the course (class) that it was in it could have one in a real race.

personal example last year in cheyenne WY. They close downtown and we race. I was a novice at that time racing my brand new golf, now I did get a lot of looks considering it didnt' have plates even yet. but I finished in the top 1/3 out of all the times posted, and the race car I build came in second lost fastest time to a race preped porsche. I ended up beating out corvettes, mustangs, miata's, and the list goes on. This year I hope to do better (depends on my tire situation). but see nothing is as it seems when looking into performance. I build alot of cars and my best recommendation to he customer is build it for what you want, how you drive.

sorry so long I just really hate people comparing apples to oranges. and ColombianorTr you could really learn alot from someone who has modified a car such as what you are saying and maybe even to help him if you really understand the suspension geometry of your RC cars.
