I'll try Demo, it may be too large a file. And YES that is the terrific TX that comes with the Gulang. Thank you.

I just noticed that the Shark 450 and Hone HF-006 appear to be identical other than the canopy.

Yes, they are identical. We've been discussing that over on the Shark forum, I've just neglected to mention it here. My -003 is coming along nicely, I finally got all my electronics delivered to me!

I am over in Shen Zhen, China for the rest of the summer. So I have access to just about every helicopter over here. I wasn't able to find the Copterx other than through the guy in Hong Kong. I think it might be made in Taiwan. I am still trying to decide on which one to go with. I am heading down to the place I got my Belt-CP last time I was here. The guy wants to build me one. It looks like the GL-450 I think from his website. Pretty easy to get trex parts over here also so I will probably go with something fully compatible instead of the Hone. I am not sure if the Hone guys will sell me parts directly unless I do follow through with a large order from them to sell.

I noticed your post about the gulang. Does it look like this battery would fit it?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=280210634304&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=018

I am looking at getting this heli and I am having trouble finding more information about a second battery. Thanks, Chris.

Hello, yes that battery would fit and that size gives almost perfect balance! I have a Hone 003 and an 005 and like them very much, they are a very good value for the cost. Most Trex parts are compatible if you are used to building helis and can figure ways to make things work. You will get the best support from Steve thru his Classic Flying Machines website. Good Luck! P.S. Steve sells a battery that fits perfect also.

Chuter, what's your take on the -005 versus the -003? Do they fly about the same? Do you prefer one over the other? Does your -003 have trouble with the elevator travel, due to the elevator servo arm hitting the AR bracket?

The -003 build continues to bother me, although now I'm almost done. My swash linkages were totally off, I had to adjust them myself. I expect to spool it up tonite.

Hi Demo, I love them both.. The 003 was a compromise on the servo arm clearance with the a-r bracket, but like I said, I don't do 3d so it flys well.. The 005 is great again for the money. better frame, a-r-bracket relocated, no problems. Inquired with Steve about the 001 and 002 and would like to try those too. Not sure if he is going into those, he's still trying to get parts. Get 'em in the air, they are a bargain, I have yet to break a part that I couldn't find a Trex replacement or make something work. Good luck!

Thanks demoUp I'm getting a little goofy with these helis. I just ordered a Trex 450X combo for 140.00 with free shiping. There are some really good deals if you hunt them down. It was a hard decision between the Trex and the EXI from X-Heli. We're getting clones of clones and they are just as good as the name brands. I still think the Gulang was the best deal. I have ordered another WFly TX and RX to fly the Trex, and found an E-Bay store who is selling the 8 channel WFly Rx for 26.00 with your choice of crystal! One of my buddies, just dropped that radio in his CopterX, with no other set-up except to level the swash and it flies perfect with the CCPM programming. They are bulletproof. I will certainly check out Castle Rock, thanks.

I'm in the air with the -003! I think my gyro is not up to the task (Telebee/Zoom), but the bird is nice. I hovered it chest high in my basement, not bad for guessing at the swash linkage links and getting it trimmed good enough to fly on one battery. Man, talk about shaking, I had no idea what would happen, but I kept getting it lighter and lighter on the skids, trimming and trimming, and then she was up. The DX7 is one bad-a@# radio, that's all I've got to say. Programming it was no problem, and it looks like it has all the fine tuning that I'm going to want, I'm really glad I got it.

I have the same gyro on my 003 and it works perfect. The linkage and the settings have to be correct. Hover the heli without the tail lock and make all your adjustments until it's close then use the head hold. You really should learn to fly the tail, it's great practice. That Telebee/Zoom is also an Align 500x and a half dozen other labels. Once you get it set right, it will be fine. I also fly in my basement, because of the weather here in Chicago this time of year. It can get a little hairy, but
if you can learn in that space, the rest is easy.

Thanks, Chuter, that's the same thing that Xodarap1 just told me, he said his Telebee works fine on his Shark. Just got to keep adjusting. Would you mind measuring and telling me what tail servo arm length you're using right now, measured from hub center to ball center? I'd appreciate it much. Not sure if mine's too long or too short, I'm right at 12mm, I think. thnx much.

Troy , the servo arm isn't as important as the servo location on the boom. I will measure mine tomorrow and let you know. I am using one of the JR digital servos on the tail and using the outermost hole, I will measure that too. That's all I had to get right, as long as your servo arm and slider arm are at right angles to the boom. It's a lot of trial and error.
