Hey, if Dub is smiling.... that is a good sign !
First, the QM engine.
The QM-2 422 engine was released for competition some time ago and has been available since September 2007. It has done fairly well in competition so far, and Dub continues to refine the production engine. Yes, I have to prepare a dedicated product page for these on the web site.
The QJ-2 is indeed currently available.
The q-500 engine took a bit longer to develop and was just added to the production line-up in January.
Numbers wise..... on a 8.8x9 or 8.75x9W (comparitive standards) the improvment on the ground is around 400-600 hundred rpm over the 2006/2007 Quickie-Jett engine. Flight performance has been impressive.
Very smooth running engine and pretty well behaved. The longer rod really helped. So far it has held its own in competition. Prop selection for racing depends a bit more on personal preferences and how one flys.
Neither engine represents a quantum leap in 428 or 422 racing performance. Just evens up the field a bit. [;)]
