I had no idea this company existed. CoStar Group. My goodness they are international too.... I dont know if any one here has seen there van setup yet, I must say its impressive. Has any one here heard or used them? If you click this link here you can see a partial item list of equipment there vans have. Field research vehicle.. There mast is only 23ft. tall. Wow only a $150,000.00 per van.

I didnt mean for my post to read like a commercial and for that I am sorry. I have no connection whatsoever to this company. Sorry if I came across that way. I was intrigued on the setup they are using and how they are nation wide and nothing more. I could only hope my small ambitions would be this sucsessful.

...Well then perhaps it would be good if you edited the post so that it was clearly not commercial...and maybe even commented on what you found intriguing.

Umm... what does this have to do with R/C or aerial photography?

Welcome to the Whipping Post... Based on the replies I can see why many of the pro's don't frequent this forum. A mast is part of the toolbox of many pro ap rc airplane and rc heli pilots.

I do not understand why the mods moved this post because ALL of the other forums recognize the mast as a form of aerial photography. Unless of course it was based on the premature replies of a single person that did not take the time to see what it was about or did not meet their specific interests.

Regarding Costar... The 23' mast seems inadequate while the rest of the stuff is overkill at the price of $150k.

Not to worry, after reading the FAQ. It's for real estate professionals, $360 a year to use a (one) picture on up to 3 listings, more than three listings is an additional $360. The photo they receive is 800 x 600 with a watermark. Upon further reading, subscribers get to pick a photo from there extensive library. (They use a 1D and 10D for that size image).

Perhaps you can use this to your advantage.

They also host Commercial Property listings.

Probably the main reason that most people do not read this forum is because this thread is now in the "off topic" forum.

Apologies all 'round. I didn't realize that a camera on a pole is considered aerial photography.

But I think I could rig up something for my Subaru for considerably less than $150K, with every bit of functionality of this van.

Maybe 150 large is for buying into the franchise??

It has alot to do with aerial photography.
cameras
Remote triggers
Pan tilt mounts
video feeds
pictures taken from an elevated perspective....
We share alot of the same technology and equipment.
I have a 58' mast on my truck for AP.

Thanks for the link... It's great to see other's sites.

Masts are nothing new to me as I own a couple, they are more popular than you think... I believe Teamwoody also owns a mast and he was just trying to make others aware of a company none of us had heard of before. I have seen him at APLanding. Most of the pros hang out there...
