Good evening all!

Recently I was the closer on the eBay offerings of the post just a few items down the list here for the Draganflyer parts.

Among the many items in the package were two Li-Polymer 2000 mAh "flight" batteries and one 1320 mAh "camera" battery.

A few days after the package arrived, I had attempted to charge all of the batteries and one in particular just would not charge even though I left it connected for up to and exceeding 24 hours at a time. A meter reading of the voltage consistently read "0", much to my chagrin...

So, after a couple of days of charging attempts, I decided to make a stab at resuscitation, figuring that I had "nothing to lose".....
<CAUTION - this may not work for everyone...!>
As part of my set-up for operating, I have a 12 volt gel cell battery what one might call a "motorcycle" battery, although it is in a jump pack for providing 12 volt power for any of a number of electronic field functions.
So, I took my 12 volt battery and sat the two on a non combustible surface for safety and connected the two batteries together and let them sit for a couple of hours after a bit of neurotic temperature monitoring to see if the li-po was going to overheat...

After the couple of hours I disconnected and checked the voltage and it now read over 12 volts. It has now been 13 days since that charge, and a check last night of the voltage and it is STILL over 12 volts after sitting unused for that time.

I have not had an opportunity yet to fly with the battery, but I think I now have reason to believe that my "CPR" may well have resuscitated this expensive little devil. I do hope so.

I offer this just as an "fyi" in that it APPEARS to have worked for me.

As a side point, I found it interesting that the older DF apparently came with the larger 2000 mAh batteries for "flight" whereas mine (built in May of 2007) came only with the 1320 mAh batteries.........

Good luck!

ED
