YUP, that is a bit heavy, but it will fly OK. These 1/5 Corsairs weigh 32, and 33 lbs. They float like trainers on landing.

Warbird_1....You might consider an engine that will help displace added nose weight.....If its scale flying thats a priority....just reduce the throttle a tad.........Bill.....

Warbird_1....Most of the TopGun airplanes are usually marginal on power to hide engines inside the cowls......although on occasion some show up with adequate power.....The "Z" F4U @ 40 lbs with a G-62 will fly but wouldn't want to guess at its performance......Our "Warbird" group will be there this weekend....doing part of the Half-Time show......Bill.....

No way will a 40 lb Ziroli Corsair fly with a G-62.
Ain't gonna happen.
My Corsair was tricked out at 34 - 35 lbs. Flew great with a 4.2.

mustang , you under estimate the power of the force. just like everybody siad a ziroli p-40 would never fly on a q-50. mine did and it flew scale at 89 mph. hehehehe

Mmmm... The force is strong with this one it is.
Fly with authority it will not.
Venture not to the dark side(bad attitude), or in trouble you will be. LOL

My guess is that it will "fly" at 40# on a G62 but he will have to carefully plan his maneuvers. Loops won't be the strong suite.

Mine flies very well at 36# with a Brison 5.8 and slows down quite well for landings. The flaps are very effective.

Man, I'd like to see it fly. Don't know if I should go to Top Gun or the air show at Patrick AFB?! Thunderbirds and Blue Angels at the same venue, along with plenty of great warbirds from around this area! What to do?
