and for that matter...if u was to press the ball end from the outside (wheel side) apposed to the inside...u may even bea able to put a plastic cover screw on the inside to wear u could put some kinda lubricant or graphite in the ball cup and trap it..do that and it may not be bad...more I look at it the more I dont like the ball being pressed in from the inside...the just use good fastners and make them long enuff and it may not be bad...

What you have just said is the way they go together. They do come in from the wheel side. There is a plastic retainer and then a hex nut to hold it in place.

well in the pic it looked like most of the ball is showing..so I assumed the pressed in from the arm side...I'd diff put some more meat there...still would rather see c-cups but its Darins choice...just if theres problems with the horizontal fastners I'll let yall know I told ya so...lol.....

Clermont makes a good point! Having 2 Different styles of suspension will cause confusion (and frustration when you order/receive the wrong parts for YOUR car) among Buyers and the Vendors.
Update the Hurricane to make it Comparable to other popular cars. If the arms will fit as an Upgrade, then thats a bonus, but dont engineer a White Elephant just to make it backward compatible.
If the ball-end design (currently popular) has flaws, now is the time to FIX them in the design phase.

P.S. It would be nice....(not mandatory....just Nice) if aftermarket arms from a company such as RPM would fit the car.

I dont know...I just bought my buggy and it would suck if the new parts wouldnt fit...like it or not if you change it the production of current parts would quit...but im guessing at most you might have to drill diff mounting holes in the chassis. if it wont work I guess I'll have to stock pile a bunch of parts so I dont have a new buggy that I cant run

You Make a good point, but WOULD they just Stop making the old parts? I dont think they would. They already have the Moulds and Production facilities in place.
Example: Volcano STX is an old suspension design. Volcano SV is a new suspension design. Parts for BOTH are readily available.

I dont think a New design should be handicapped SOLELY to make it backward compatible.
If you are currently having success racing the Hurricane, that wont change if they come out with a New suspension!
We all know that RC racing is 85% driver skill and 15% Mechanical. Otherwise, how could a $300 Hurricane/Monsoon Possibly compete with $600 cars?
We've all used our Redcats to lap the guy with the Factory Racer that cant make it around the track without crashing or running over a barricade.
(Slower is sometimes Faster.) Driver Skill is King!

Call me Crazy, but that suspension looks IDENTICAL to what is on the Volcano SV.
Kuppler and I have THRASHED that suspension to PIECES (check our videos if you dont believe me) and we have yet to pull a Ball out of its Pillow, or rip the Threaded portion of the Ball out of the Arm.
In my opinion, the Weak point of that suspension is where the Upper/Lower arms are Captured at the Diff Housing. We have both Bent those metal Pins that secure the Lower Arms. Thats where Looseness developes as well. There is a LOT of torque applied to those Pins/Arms when you land a jump off camber or on One wheel, and the arms get worn after a while. Then the suspension is loose and wobbles.
Also, we bend the Axles, but THAT shouldn't be a problem on the 1/8 vehicle, as they are so much sturdier.

Having said all this, My Monsoon (same suspension as the Hurricane, right?) is still Tight. No shimmies or play yet. Maybe I just havent had it Long enough.....

yeah on ur monsoon just check your screw often...and you might see how far the go into the hub...on the hurricanes they dont go in very far..I put longer ones in my hurricane...both top and bottom...I do however have to tighten the lower ones frequently....especialy when jumping

Lol...I would be Happy to Torture test the new Hurricane!
I think they need real Racers for THAT though .
Takes a Lot more skill to Race than it does to Bash (IMHO). And the set up is totally different.
Personally, Im pretty slow on a Track. Im still learnin an I figure its better to complete a Lap smoothly and consistently than it is to go Fast an crash a few times. So I havent even broke my monsoon yet. I HAVE seen damage to other cars tho. Mostly broken front arms from Landing the big jump wrong or Missin the Triple an smashin into the top of the last hump.
And I'll keep an Eye one those Monsoon screws....thanks.

People like me that are still fairly new to nitro are not going to know the difference of PBS, C-HUB, Kingpin...it wont make a difference to the new costumer which it is. But you also need to think about the people that do own these cars and have supported Redcat and take there opinons more serious then Kemo's suggestions, i have seen some posts from Kemo in a few forums bashing Redcat hardcore. Like Ed said before what is your interest in what you call a cheap chinese vehical all of a sudden?

I myself think you need to keep the models the way they are and offer more upgrades, not everyone is into racing there nitros and from what i gather reading the posts most of the people that like this concept are talking about racing. Also if you put this PBS on there you will probably raise the price of the cars which will detour new buys cause of the reputation that has been spread around about Redcat from people just like Kemo.

ive red some of his posts....actually in the time I was waiting for my hurricane I read some of his posts and was like darn...did i just throw away almost $400 on a pile?..... I would like some changes to the hurricane...not sold on this change but I would like better steering...mine dont like to turn to the right unless im moving...then its fine..im all for improvements and im glad Darin asks us the people who bash race or whatever about what we would like to see...if its good great...if its no better then what I got..might as well leave it alone

i dont think the lightning has PBS, if you look at the tornado and volcano it looks like they have PBS, it has 2 little balls off the arms that go into the hub deals.
