ORIGINAL: RocketRob The Micro Estreleta was next....... The little cox seemed true to the "old times". wouldn't start. ran great on the stand..... It would run out a prime but must have some castor blobs in the venturi Not having my ol trusty cox wrench with me decided to leave well enough alone and pick up the next plane in the fleet to send up. The gear is for static display and wheelpants still need painted out red. 5 turns from closed plug venturi and pull fuel up the line-just get it to the carb, do not pull fuel into the motor! close exhaust port drop tiny amount of fuel on port wind the prop, motor should burp Flip thru again to make sure the prime is all burnt out Re-prime the exhaust port with tiny amount of fuel Restart, should run at this point, if not clear out the prime with a few flips and try again. Once running: starting needle position is at least 1.5 turns open from where it will lean out. The motor will not hot start from the running position with a prime once you have gotten it tuned in! You have to open the needle again at least 3/4 turn. These motors have such a hard time getting past the friction of the old oil inside that priming and loosening up to a point that they turn freely is enough to flood the engine. If my .010's have been sitting for a while I just run it on exhaust prime until it warms and loosens up, then start the cold start procedure. I'm pretty good and repeatable with this technique, you might have luck with it too. What are you running for fuel?
