I tested several crashed F1 wings supported at the tips as Ed said. 170 lbs (back then), standing on either side of the center section with no failures. Those wings were only 1" thick at the center.

Hello Fabio,

Nice test. But raise your left foot from the ground so that the wing really gets 90kg and wide up the distance between the tips...

How do you build up the wings ?

If it is only foam core + 1.5mm balsa sheeting you should get wings of around 360 grams.

What do you mean with bajonett ?

Best regards,

Mario

Come on now, I realise the US is not metric, but this is simple arithmetic!

ARF's are toxic to the mind. Look at how many RCU posts ask how to figure wing loading.

Italy is metric? His title equates 90 kg to 40 lbs.

Normal conversion rate is 2.2 lbs to the Kg

Converting 75g/dM to oz/ft^2 is more difficult.

Yes, 24.58 was my answer too. That's the limit on wing loading for FAI speed attempts.

Hello Mario,
Fabio don't use balsa (expensive.. ) but he use "Impiallacciatura" ...i don't know traslate in english.
However, I think that the wing does not break
